Jacinda Ardern Instagram – Starting the day with a Global Dialogue on Post Covid Economic Recovery. Some really common themes coming through from South East Asian nations represented here – especially the inflation and cost of living issues the region is facing. I used my opportunity to speak to discuss the importance of trade as a tool to recover, the need to transition our economies in response to climate change, and finally, the need for us to focus on those hit hardest. I’m the only female leader at the East Asia Summit. We know women are feeling the brunt of the economic crisis that has followed COVID. 47 million more women and girls will be pushed into poverty by this crisis – that’s a reason to target them in our regions recovery through education, training and employment opportunities, as well addressing wider issues that are key such as access to family planning. 📸 @albomp
