Holding her hand in her final moments was an honor I will cherish forever. Goodbye to my beloved Grandma @marilyampolsky ❤️
Her life was a testament to extraordinary strength and resilience. She bravely faced life’s toughest challenges: losing her child Michael in a car accident and husband Max to cancer, battling and defeating breast cancer herself, and overcoming countless falls and broken bones. Even after being run over TWICE by an elderly woman outside her hair salon, she could still laugh it off with me, giving my comedic relief a soft spot to land. Her spirit was unbreakable… but not her hip or arms or femur. I would tell her it was time to stop attempting cartwheels and we would laugh. In the last decade, it felt like she was in a ‘Final Destination’ movie, yet she was unfazed, finding incredible happiness and joy in her growing family. She crafted a legacy of love and connection in the family that I deeply admire and plan to continue. Her home was party central for me and all my cousins, and that kind of family-homebase is so powerful and something I want to cultivate in her honor.
I’ll miss you forever, Grandma. Your legacy of strength, laughter and love lives on in us. 🦋
