Celebrated as the “godmother of the women’s movement,” Dorothy, a @ywcausa leader, and @ncnw_hq president for over 40 years, propelled women’s rights with her education and social work background. She was also among the few women on the speaker stage at the 1963 March on Washington, where Dr. King delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. #blackhistorymonth
Did you know about Dr. Patricia Bath? Dr. Bath was a renowned American ophthalmologist and innovator who pioneered laser cataract treatment and became the first African American female physician granted a medical patent. She revolutionized eye care through “community ophthalmology,” expanding access for low-income and underserved populations. #blackhistorymonth
