Jessie Reyez Instagram – “Is this love” cover, out now. When I was presented with the opportunity to cover such a legendary song for such a legendary movie, I almost said no. Considering how much I’ve always looked up to Bob, it seemed almost sacrilegious to attempt a song that i find so holy. “Is this Love”. A beautiful message from an artist who has provided medicine in the form of music to the world; a world that feels like it needs double the dose right now. Like most of us, there have moments in my life where burdens of the human experience have been heavier than I could bear. One moment in particular, I had landed in Toronto, circumstances rendered my tears to be waves and I couldn’t come up for air. I had to do a gig that night and I was trying to find grounding. I remember laying on a bench near the airport downtown and looking up at a canopy of trees above me. Bob came on and I felt instantly soothed. My tears dried. I decided to say yes to singing this because I chose to view it as an opportunity to pay homage to the sacred.
