I hosted an epic (see last pic) “ZGM” dinner on the last day of CNY with @qiyuwu! Thanks to @chilliapicatering for catering to my guests’ various dietary restrictions and ensuring they had a sumptuous and delicious food selection to close the new year.
As we sent the last guests off in the morning, and I fell into bed at 5.30 am, I thought about all who came through our doors and those who couldn’t make it. My heart is grateful. They have blessed our family with love, kindness, friendship, generosity and grace. Thank you all so much!
I wish everyone a year of love and harmony! 元宵节快乐! 🏮🍡🧧
Ps: do u know what ZGM stands for?

“SHERO” a year on. It was a beautiful gathering on the last day of CNY, catching up and congratulating one another for how far we have all come since then. This time last year, we were making “SHERO”, which was exceptionally memorable. The training to be a bodyguard, filming in Canberra, fighting with a ponytail that had nine pieces of hair extensions in it…
Summarising the experience in 10 pictures on IG was challenging because it felt like a lifetime for me. A long, gruelling search for sister @carriewst, a roller coaster love-hate romance with my client @romeotan, a painful rejection from my best friend @nickk_teo and a wary relationship with my sister’s mentee @tayying_.
It’s a joy to have worked with all of you on this project! Here’s to another year of celebrations, and may all your dreams come true! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

🎉🙌🏻The biggest challenge for my character in “SHERO” was maintaining consistency in the emotional journey as filming spanned four months across Singapore and Australia. I enjoyed being a part of this project and it’s an honour to be nominated for this year’s Star Awards.
But seriously, since the ceremony this year is going to be held on my son’s birthday, I think I deserve a trophy — for pushing him out 7 years ago. What say you? 🤣🤣🤣 #pushpresent #starawards2024 #mediacorpSHERO

As the Year of the Dragon unfolds, it’s clear that challenges abound for many of us. In curating this year’s Chinese New Year workshop at @thedimpleloft, I felt drawn to share the tale of 《鱼跃龙门》— a story that embodies perseverance and determination. Among the myriad interpretations of this folk tale, the version where a red carp, after an initial failed attempt, seeks the aid of a friend to overcome adversity, resonated with me the most. Little did I know, each time I shared this story, a new lesson emerged.
Recently, I had the privilege of taking the children from @glyph.asia on the red carp’s transformative journey. To become a dragon, the red carp must leap over the Dragon’s Gate—a feat seemingly insurmountable due to the swift currents. As I recounted the story in English, answering the children’s eager questions, a new insight struck me: sometimes, to achieve our goals, we must initially steer away from them to discover alternative pathways that bring us closer.
The moment of the red carp’s leap, assisted by the timely push from his friend, the black carp, right before his strength waned, underscored a profound truth. While we’re often advised to keep our goals in sight and remain undeterred, occasionally, stepping back isn’t an act of surrender but an opportunity to explore new avenues and possibilities. That extra push? Its value is immeasurable, but only when the timing is perfect.
As the Chinese New Year celebrations draw to a close, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all who are poised to make their leap this year. May you find the strength, tenacity, intelligence, and fortune needed to achieve your aspirations. 🐉🧧
