A great birthday night. 🥰
This school year, a boy in Harper’s class said to her “Girls can’t fight.” Even though she has the skill to show him he is wrong, she brushed the comment off and went about her day. I swear, martial arts has given her so much. Her self-confidence has improved, it’s teaching her discipline and she is gaining the ability to stand up for herself when the situation calls for it. She’s turning into a tiny ninja, guys. I’m here for it. (@kylegenekoenig, you’re a badass and a great instructor.)
This is a great representation of how I feel in the morning getting Harper ready and out the door for school. Who else understands this vibe? (This is also pretty close to what my hair looks like at school drop off) And for the love of God, if you have unicorn children who wake up with their teeth already brushed, plz don’t comment. ❤️

Harper told us recently that a girl was bringing a “cup that makes smoothies” to school and that she was having fresh smoothies at lunch. 🤯
My child, like most kids, is a smoothie lover….
and damnit @brandonjbarash beat me to it and bought her a @blendjet first. 🫠
Anyway, sharing this brilliant idea for the parents out there. The cup has a screw-on cap, so it’s safe to toss in a backpack. Great addition to school lunch or to have during snack time.
*It obviously has a blender blade at the bottom, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a child that’s too young to understand not to stick their hand in it.*

Recently, I’ve been working on pieces for a few blankets I’m making, for Harper’s room and my living room. My little @muudliving “Saturn” bag is quickly becoming my favorite for projects. Tbh, I think it’s all of the pockets. 🥰 (If you checkout Muud’s project bags, the “Saturn XL” is also a winner.) Lastly, I get way too excited when my crochet hook matches my yarn. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s definitely my nerdiest moment.

I told Harper that she looked like a little lizard 🦎 at @boulderdashclimbing yesterday. Some of the walls she raced up, some of them took a bit more time to accomplish, but she refused to give up. On her last climb, I could see her little limbs shaking, as she tried to hang on to a peg that was the size of a floss container. I’m constantly in awe of her enthusiasm and the joy she finds in things that challenge her. She would tell you that she does NOT find joy in being challenged, but the last photo in this bunch I snapped as she collapsed to the ground after 90 mins of climbing. Pretty sure that is a happy kid – with kind of ridiculous biceps. Deliriously exhausted, but happy…and hopefully proud of herself. Because I sure-as-shit am proud of her. ❤️ PS. Anyone else here ever look at their kid(s) and think “God, I wish they could gift me 10% of their energy next Mother’s Day. I’d never need coffee again…”?

Crocheting something for Harper while sipping my morning coffee (lie. the 1st cup I chug. The 2nd I sip) and admiring the summer nails @nails.qvtr.winston bestowed upon me yesterday. 🥰 I think he was shocked when I asked for orange.
