Back in October when we opened MY very first “home shop” — in @buckmason’s 29th shop, mind you… in our little town, it was really a creative experiment. Well, we are over three months in and the experiment seems to actually be working!
We set out to create a place where all the different things we love can live seamlessly together to be shared with our people. (That’s you!) The shop is truly a curation of everything we love — vintage furniture, beautiful clothes, incredible ceramics, our favorite artist’s work…. and it’s all there under one roof (and in one color story) for the first time.

These floors were a massive win for us in design land. I love to take advantage of my own projects as a place to try more unorthodox (at least here in America…) treatments of materials.
You know, that gorgeous look of raw untouched wood floors before any sort of sealer has been applied? No orangey tint, no glossy finish — just beautiful raw wood. Well that has alway been the finished goal and while we managed to get close a few times we had never cracked the code like this before. Last spring on a trip with my good friend @hilaryrobertson to @3daysofdesign in Copenhagen I was on a mission to find out how and what they use “over there” to get the floors that I just don’t see over here. While talking to the team at @hans.wegner they introduced me to wood oil and wood soap. As an alternative to a poly or a sealer. I brought it home with me and started testing it on different wood species, like some kind of mad scientist in my basement. And it WORKED — it sealed the wood completely without altering the tone or finish of the wood in any way. I was thrilled, and now months into a heavy traffic commercial space I still am! I seriously feel like we finally… CRACKED THE CODE!

The word is out… our new Leanne Ford for @crateandbarrel collection arrives TOMORROW!
Having the great honor of designing my own line for and with @crateandbarrel has been, for lack of a better word, bonkers. I am still in shock. (And It’s been five years strong!) The first time they called, I truly couldn’t believe it. Every time I go into their office I think (and say on repeat…), “I would have interned here for free!” I can’t begin to tell you how it feels to have something exist only in your head and then to see it arrive at your home so many months (years) later. It kind of feels like a miracle every time. But here I am, five years later, still putting out a new collaboration for Leanne Ford for @crateandbarrel. With new ideas mixed in with evolutions of some of my original ideas.

Your guide to ROUND TOP: Part 1! Round Top, Texas baby…. what can I say, it’s become the Met Ball of interior design and vintage. (Not that I would know, or anything…) It’s basically the greatest neighborhood yard sale of all time. The little town is a little over an hour outside of Austin with a population of a 90 (…90 of the sweetest most gracious Texans out there), but twice a year the little town welcomes all of us design lovers with open arms and spoils us with some of the most incredible vintage from all over the world (like this coffee table from @enebyhome). We put on our trusty old cowboy boots while the best of the best vintage dealers set up booths and tents in fields selling some of the most amazing vintage pieces you will ever find from all sorts of different corners of the world and then we shop till we drop.
So many of you have reached out asking for recommendations while you plan your trips so I thought it might be easier to pop on here and make a few posts about it — starting with where to stay, where to eat and where to drink:
@wanderinn — has been my go-to for years now — great music, great location, the best hang… the @junkgypsy ladies know how to have a good time.
@baderranchatroundtop — an amazing spot for great finds as well as food and cocktails
@prostroundtoptx — the best Basil Sangria and pizza in town – it’s become a daily meal for me.
@ladyelaine.co — incredible tacos and margaritas, and FROSE all day. Chances are, you will find me here at sunset.

Your guide to ROUND TOP: Part 2! Round Top is a little obscure in the way that it seems to have no start and finish.This place is endless, you could spend weeks there and still not see everything. But here you have it — my go-to vendor list:

One more tip: Don’t forget about shipping — you’ll want to make sure your treasures can make it back to their new homes after you’ve found them! At Round Top the vendors do not handle shipping for you so you will want to connect with a shipper down there when you arrive or better yet before you go. Just ask around for recommendations. The vendors can always recommend their favs to work with.

WE’RE BACK — and so excited to introduce The Origins Collection! These are brand new designs that have been living in my brain for a long time now mixed with evolutions of some of my greatest @crateandbarrel hits (so far)!
This collection isn’t just the culmination of five years of collaboration with Crate and some of my favorite artists and craftspeople, but also a lifetime of inspiration. It’s fashion, it’s music — it’s layers and layers of all the good stuff. Dinnerware prototyped in my ceramic studio, modern takes on my favorite vintage one-offs, The Origins Collection is our biggest yet, and I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
