Mita Vashisht Instagram – From ‘Jazeere’ in 1988 till today..!
Rajit once told me, that his first film/acting in the camera was with me—in Govind Nihalani’s ‘Jazeere’ (an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s play ‘Little Eyolf’).
Rajit and I and Irrfan and Ratna Pathak Shah were the principal cast. (1989)
(I caught the film a few years ago on DD archives and was quite astounded at the level of maturity we had as actors even in our twenties—each of our roles was a highly complex one to play).
Rajit has never lost the warmth of that time, and this picture, taken at the Goldfish premiere, captures beautifully the bond that has remained unconditionally affectionate and trustworthy!
In this picture he is dragging me off to ensure we have a picture together, (to mark the event), in front of the Goldfish poster.
