Her vision wasn’t entirely different from what Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie released this summer, complete with a scene of Barbie arriving at Mattel headquarters and a dolt-ish Ken. She planned to cast herself in the titular role. Who better to subvert the trope of a blonde with an impossibly coveted physique? The pitch did not go over well. This was “back in the white hot days, back when Jesus lived,” she says, grinning. “They took us out of the studio like we were on fire.” She was thrilled to see Gerwig and Robbie—whom she lovingly calls her “movie daughter”—triumph where she had been thwarted. “It makes me want to cry, actually,” Stone says, “because I think of all the times I sat at my kitchen table, thinking, ‘This is fucking torture.’ I was banging my head against this supposedly glass ceiling, except it felt like it was made of fucking concrete.” Editor-in-Chief: @sallyholmes Writer: @matkahn Photographer: @ericmichaelroy Artwork: @SharonStone Cinematographer: @matilda___montgomery Stylist: @theparislibby Makeup Artist: @amyoresman Hair Stylist: @guiniushair for Exclusive Artists using Living Proof and T3 Tools Nails: @nailsbyemikudo Set Designer: @iloveamyjo Creative Director: @jennabrillhart Executive Editor: @danismcnally Photo Director: @kellychiello Fashion Direction: @kevinphuynh Beauty Direction: @lauren_valenti Production Assistant: @amanda.lauro Booking: Talent Connect Group @talentconnectgroup @instylemagazine

Repost @leesharrock

Award-winning actress, best-selling author, humanitarian and feminist icon Sharon Stone has revealed her first art exhibition in Europe at Galerie Deschler in Berlin, titled “Sharon Stone: Totem”.

During the art exhibition’s opening weekend, Cinema for Peace 2024 will be honoring Sharon Stone throughout Berlin at several major events.

‘Totem’ features 12 new and previously unseen paintings by Stone, whose art has won critical acclaim from esteemed art critics including New York Magazine’s Jerry Saltz.

Poetic titles of the abstract canvases such as ‘Ghosts’, ‘The Lovers, ‘Portrait of my Boyfriends from Foreign Countries’, ‘The Lake’ and ‘Zambezi’ evoke a sense of mystery and intrigue.

I wrote about the exhibition for @worldoffad 🖼️
