This construction spree isn’t just about cranes and steel; it’s painting the town in a nasty haze, thanks to its not-so-eco-friendly impact. Debris trucks now rule the streets in Bandra, Khar, and Santacruz – welcome to the chaos of redevelopment. How did this happen? Project Approvals in Overdrive: – 1000 projects approved just for the Bandra-Andheri belt. Why are people okay w this?? A pumped-up Floor Space Index (FSI), and a housing market on steroids – people getting one more room in their apartments – if it’s a 2 bed, you can get a 3 bed. The builders put the people in an another building for a few years while they “re develop”. Buildings that don’t even need re development are getting re developed because everyone wants more room which means the cost of the flat goes up which means more money. As a result even RENTS HAVE DOUBLED. RENT IN BANDRA FOR A 2 BED WHICH WAS 1 LAKH A MONTH IS NOW 2 LAKH A MONTH! Landlords are retiring in Switzerland 🇨🇭 laughing their way to the bank! BMC’s approval stamp on 2,473 projects in 2021 was like hitting a jackpot – a cool Rs 15,000 crore in their pockets (not yours). Breathless Beauty Makeover: Forget facelifts; Mumbai’s doing a complete overhaul. Old buildings vanish, replaced by skyscrapers, leaving the city breathless for more reasons than one. And forget about HERITAGE BUILDINGS – THEY ARE BULL DOZING EVRYTHING NOBODY CARING ABOUT HERITAGE ANYMORE. Just pay a little more money and you can get the heritage tag off. ITS SAD TO SEE THIS GREED. Pollution levels hit the roof, and Mumbai’s paying the price for “progress”. BUT IS THIS PROGRESS??? CONSTRUCTION, POLLUTION, TRAFFIC, HONKING! Shenaz Treasurywala Instagram – Some of the most disgusting 💩 poop filled beaches – 💩 Morjim, Miramar, Mandrem, Calangute, Ashwem, Tiracol, Vagator, Mobor, Baina, Arambol, Velsao, Galjibag. It’s The season for GOA! But I beg you to be respectful to this beautiful place. And also be aware that some irresponsible shacks and hotels and restaurants are dumping the sewage in the water making it unfit for swimming. So, do ask your hotels or shacks where the sewage is going before you jump in – unless of course you feel poop 💩 is good for the skin? Our oceans are suffering because of this irresponsible behaviour 😢 why do we humans ruin everything? 😢😢😢 solution ? Make them responsible! Ask your hotels shacks and restaurants where their sewage plant is . Only go to places w sewage systems. Don’t support irresponsible businesses. Spread awareness!!!
