The last time I felt this way was after seeing #asgoodasitgets .. But then this is an #alexanderpayne film! He also gave us #sideways and #aboutschmidt and #election so it’s isn’t wholly a surprise, this feeling of having your heart expanded while you feel a deep loneliness .. The Holdovers is brilliant in every way .. the performances #paulgiamatti @davinejoy @dominic.sessa are sublime, the music a charming unobtrusive score, the cinematography set in the 1970s vintage portrait look, absolutely stunning .. but what is its absolute triumph is its writing by @davidhemingson .. a caustic, hilarious and heart warming character study of loneliness and unlikely friendship .. It isn’t a surprise that the film is nominated for 5 @theacademy awards .. Bravo @miramax #granvia for making this gem .. thank you @universalpicturesindia for bringing it to India!
