The infinite expansion of everything; a beautiful reminder that everything is change - motion. Nothing creates wonderment like looking up into the blanket of a starry night and realizing that we are a part of that creation. Sometimes I feel an incurable homesickness to the stars. Chad James Buchanan Instagram - The last year has been rough; I was knocked way off of my game, I was depressed, I was sick... For the greater part of the last 10 years I had been dealing with chronic microbiota disorders and systemic inflammation which then led to the additional downfall of adrenal, thyroid, and hormone function. I had to take most of this past year off of training in order to heal. Under the guidance of my functional medicine practitioner @vince_pitstick I am relieved to say that I’m starting to feel more like myself than I have in years. Until I had found Vince, I had spent over $100k seeking answers and help. I was running around in circles always ending up where I started - frustrated and in pain. Vince has me in a place where I no longer continuously react to foods, my energy is up, and my passion for life is returning. I say this because I’m truly grateful for this man. He’s changed my life. If you’re dealing with virtually any chronic illness seek out his help. He’s a fucking wizard. I trust him completely. I’m looking forward to getting back into training, to putting 10 pounds of muscle on and to feeling like a beast again. Thanks Vince. Let’s do this 💪🏼

Chad James Buchanan Instagram - When I was 16 I convinced my mom to let me invest my entire college savings of $7500 into a business with my best friend. In the same year I dropped out of high school and moved from a small town to New York City. I convinced a friend to let me couch crash for a few weeks. A few weeks on a couch in a tiny 600 sqft apartment turned into months. Being 6’4 I barely fit on that couch yet I loved it. I was fully immersed in a very creative world. Fashion, entertainment, bitcoin junkies, tech heads, and coke heads all right out my front door. I was somewhere that was “happening.” I grew up fast. I paid my friend almost everything I had ($300 bucks) after a few months of couch crashing, leaving me with just enough cash to pay for my next place down in Chinatown. There was 10 of us. I lived under a staircase. Like Harry Potter. Spent the next year and a half traveling all over the world partying hard but working harder - trying anything and everything to give myself an edge. Experimenting various forms of exercise, neurotropics, nutrition, and vitamin/nutrient supplementation. Sometimes I went far overboard. When I was 18 I took another leap of faith. I dropped my modeling career at its height and on a dime and left for Los Angeles. I had the acting bug. Following God and my intuition I continued to navigated a crazy world with confidence. Don’t get me wrong I was in a state of constant anxiety. But I faked it till I made it. I never stopped trusting in myself. I never stopped trusting in God. Never letting fear keep me from taking action towards my desires. Not once did I succumb to doubt. One foot in front of the other... I carried on. Throughout it all, I battled and continue to battle with countless systemic health problems. And herein lies a choice too - you can either be a victim of your circumstances, or the creator of outcome. I say this because everything I’ve done, all I have, all I am - is a product of taking RISK (and a badass mother -love you mom). If you’re not feeling satisfied with your life... Take action. Take big action. Take bold action. Take a chance, a blind leap of faith - take a risk. You owe it to yourself. #happynewyear #godbless #g2019

Chad James Buchanan Instagram - I want you to know that I see it too. I might be a white man living in 21st century America - but I see it too. I am not blind. Everyday I wake up and see the news... I see so much sadness. So much darkness in the world. Fear. Pain. Loneliness. A lack of community. A lack of love. I FEEL this too. I was lucky enough to grow up in a school system in which I had just as many black friends as I had white friends. I was lucky enough to finish off my teenage years in a place that I had just as many gay friends as I had straight friends. I never saw color. I never felt homophobia. But I see so much of this bullshit out there. It breaks my heart to see this poison, this toxicity so rampant in my own country; a country that I grew up being proud of. I can remember so many times as a kid singing along with a smile: “This land is your land and this land is my land From the California to the New York island From the Redwood Forest, to the gulf stream waters This land was made for you and me” Well, it sure as shit doesn't feel that way anymore. But I know that it doesn't end here. I watched Marianne Williamson’s 2020 announcement last night and she made a beautiful point: “Other generations before us have done big things. Other generations have abolished slavery. Other generations have given women's suffrage, other generations have dismantled segregation and white supremacy in the American South. Let us not forget we are not the first generation who has had to push back against assaults on our democratic values...” We will overcome. The best is yet America.

So I figured I’d share: . Adaptive Capacity- in essence is applied creativity; an almost magical ability to transcend adversity, with all its attendant stresses, and to emerge stronger than ever before. It’s composed of two primary qualities: the ability to grasp context, and hardiness. It is these qualities, above all, that allow a person to not only survive an ordeal, but to learn from it, and to emerge stronger, more engaged, and more committed than ever before. . I challenge you to adapt to your circumstances. To focus on the good in your life rather than the bad, to dedicate your all to showing up for YOURSELF... Whether that means prioritizing adequate sleep, healthy foods, learning new skills, getting back into some sort of fitness routine or even simply creating time for yourself. There is no greater good you can do for those around you than to work towards becoming an even stronger ‘warrior-you’ than ever before. Champions are made during adversity. Perhaps right now you are facing an adversity. Adapt, move forward and reap the rewards of being your own hero. . Tag someone you love 🤙🏼

Chad James Buchanan Instagram - *CONSISTENCY GETS RESULTS* -and this applies to pretty much anything. I’m used to learning things quickly but I started working on handstands a little while ago (thanks to @fitarts )... and I think I’ve busted my ass falling over a few SEVERAL thousand times 😑😑 Every time I would fall I’d analyze what went wrong and then make a few micro adjustments. Many times I felt discouraged but now here I am consistently doing that, and while I’m no where near my goal of achieving a perfectly stable handstand, I have no doubt in the philosophy that CONSISTENCY GETS RESULTS. So if you’re feeling like a noob, and getting noob results, and maybe bashing yourself in the head with your mental fist of self-deprecation... focus on how failure is never failure, but an OPPORTUNITY to learn. Warning: Progress makes happy- So expect a moderate rush of dopamine when you hit a new benchmark of whatever success means to you 🤘🏼🤘🏼

For the greater part of the last 10 years I had been dealing with chronic microbiota disorders and systemic inflammation which then led to the additional downfall of adrenal, thyroid, and hormone function. I had to take most of this past year off of training in order to heal. Under the guidance of my functional medicine practitioner @vince_pitstick I am relieved to say that I’m starting to feel more like myself than I have in years. Until I had found Vince, I had spent over $100k seeking answers and help. I was running around in circles always ending up where I started - frustrated and in pain. Vince has me in a place where I no longer continuously react to foods, my energy is up, and my passion for life is returning. I say this because I’m truly grateful for this man. He’s changed my life. If you’re dealing with virtually any chronic illness seek out his help. He’s a fucking wizard. I trust him completely. In the same year I dropped out of high school and moved from a small town to New York City. I convinced a friend to let me couch crash for a few weeks. A few weeks on a couch in a tiny 600 sqft apartment turned into months. Being 6’4 I barely fit on that couch yet I loved it. I was fully immersed in a very creative world. Fashion, entertainment, bitcoin junkies, tech heads, and coke heads all right out my front door. I was somewhere that was “happening.” I grew up fast. I paid my friend almost everything I had ($300 bucks) after a few months of couch crashing, leaving me with just enough cash to pay for my next place down in Chinatown. There was 10 of us. I lived under a staircase. Like Harry Potter. Spent the next year and a half traveling all over the world partying hard but working harder - trying anything and everything to give myself an edge. Experimenting various forms of exercise, neurotropics, nutrition, and vitamin/nutrient supplementation. Sometimes I went far overboard. When I was 18 I took another leap of faith. I dropped my modeling career at its height and on a dime and left for Los Angeles. I had the acting bug. Following God and my intuition I continued to navigated a crazy world with confidence. Don’t get me wrong I was in a state of constant anxiety. But I faked it till I made it. I never stopped trusting in myself. I never stopped trusting in God. Never letting fear keep me from taking action towards my desires. Not once did I succumb to doubt. One foot in front of the other... I carried on. Throughout it all, I battled and continue to battle with countless systemic health problems. And herein lies a choice too - you can either be a victim of your circumstances, or the creator of outcome. I say this because everything I’ve done, all I have, all I am - is a product of taking RISK (and a badass mother -love you mom). If you’re not feeling satisfied with your life... Take action. Everyday I wake up and see the news... I see so much sadness. So much darkness in the world. Fear. Pain. Loneliness. A lack of community. A lack of love. I FEEL this too. I was lucky enough to grow up in a school system in which I had just as many black friends as I had white friends. I was lucky enough to finish off my teenage years in a place that I had just as many gay friends as I had straight friends. I never saw color. I never felt homophobia. But I see so much of this bullshit out there. It breaks my heart to see this poison, this toxicity so rampant in my own country; a country that I grew up being proud of. So much darkness in the world. Fear. Pain. Loneliness. A lack of community. A lack of love. I FEEL this too. I was lucky enough to grow up in a school system in which I had just as many black friends as I had white friends. I was lucky enough to finish off my teenage years in a place that I had just as many gay friends as I had straight friends. I never saw color. I never felt homophobia. I’m used to learning things quickly but I started working on handstands a little while ago (thanks to @fitarts )... and I think I’ve busted my ass falling over a few SEVERAL thousand times 😑😑 Every time I would fall I’d analyze what went wrong and then make a few micro adjustments. Many times I felt discouraged but now here I am consistently doing that, and while I’m no where near my goal of achieving a perfectly stable handstand, I have no doubt in the philosophy that CONSISTENCY GETS RESULTS. So if you’re feeling like a noob, and getting noob results, and maybe bashing yourself in the head with your mental fist of self-deprecation... focus on how failure is never failure, but an OPPORTUNITY to learn. Warning: Progress makes happy- So expect a moderate rush of dopamine when you hit a new benchmark of whatever success means to you 🤘🏼🤘🏼
