There is nothing in my life these days that I live that does not bring Palestine to heart and mind. Everything is shifting, has already changed more radically than ever- we cannot not know how much we are up against, I am conscious of every thing that feeds into the powers of I$ra3l and I’m divesting everywhere, what I eat, where I grocery, what my child watches and plays with, where we go for leisure and fun and I also am transferring those things to places and things that support from afar their lives persisting, tending to my relationships with even greater care, holding my daughter with more care, loving my partner with more tenderness, treating each stranger with kindness and humanity even if a piece of me fears their opposition to me. And work and creation just is not and cannot be the same. I cannot stop and will not stop talking about how everything ties back to Palestine and that is why Palestine has to be at the forefront of our movements, as we stand with Palest👁️ne we amplify all the things we fight for in equity and justice. Most especially I hold the Palestin👁️ans in how I hold my children-the one I birthed, the ones I teach, and the ones who I am entrusted to raise in village beside their parents who are my kin and comrades. Hāwane Rios Instagram - temperature check I’m exhausted by my own people, my own community, but particularly my own generation of ‘kia’i and ‘aloha ‘āina’ So many of you watched and championed a certain woman from Maui as she literally harassed wahine Hawai’i from Lahaina along with simultaneously harassing me, my family, and women in my community on Hawai’i Island. So many of you enjoyed the way she mocked us and the way she taunted us with posting our children on her stories with the purpose of hurting us. Her actions incited an empty courage in many of you to cause people you don’t even know real harm. And sooo many you who preach about protecting women and protecting land ate all of that up and not only became complicit in her harm but made her out to be some kind of accountability hero. You championed someone who not only celebrates hurting people but who dedicates her life to making it harder for other women, other mothers, to tend to their responsibilities, their children, and show up for their community. It is absolutely despicable to have seen so many of you repeat her toxic behavior and bully women specifically of Lahaina as they did and continue to do everything they can to heal, grieve, and take care of their families. And so many of the people who loved this for them - brought out their arare and popcorn and not only watched but commented with hate - are in the same generation as the people who were being attacked. Hawaiian fathers, mothers, queer people. Auē ka hilahila. it’s like you guys were waiting for the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to take us all to the proverbial social media courts to be judged by the lehulehu without any consideration for our humanity or even our truth. This is example you all gave to the next generation of aloha ‘āina and some of them are following right along and more have decided not to repeat that kolonaio behavior. I pray protection and healing for the women of Lahaina that were forced to endure this public harm and who continue to. Like Tutu Nana Veary said, “change, we must,” and change, we certainly are. Colonizers felt they were dividing us in their false sense of domination over our lands, but we are the descendants of those who survived, dispersed across lands rising together. Make clearer everyday with our communities, our children to our elders, what the truths are of our bound struggles so we can organize around bound liberation. Colonization meant to divide us, but we stand on our lands present in beside each other fighting for our lives TOGETHER. Where our lives are in sacred ecology with all others that live beside us. Where we do not live with more or better than others who share home with us, but where there is mutual care for our home and the home that is each other. As a colon👁️zed child of the diaspora, I have longed to reconnect to my Indigenous roots, so I could feel what it is to be grounded in Home across generational ties- to belong, to be cared for, loved as I care for and love my Home. I am in such deep contemplation of what it means for me to continue be here in the US where I have throughout my aging, been told that if I don’t like it here, I should go back where I come from. I wish it was that easeful of a process, to know home that I can return to. I pray for those who all know their home, may them have the means to live there with and for all those who live and all that makes that Home. Hāwane Rios Instagram - Kū Kia‘i Palekekina I wanted to share a little bit about how this came to be. My braddah @kaiboymusic asked me to chant on this powerful musical declaration of solidarity. Just the week before my fellow comrade and brilliant hoa aloha ‘āina @olapakauwila.wilz invited me to chant the kanikau he found in honor of Timoteo Ha’alilio that referenced the abundant waterways of Palestine. I included that particular line of the kanikau in the first line of this chant. I wanted to amplify the Palestinian liberation cry, ‘from the river to the sea,’ in the second line and intentionally addressed the ocean for its power and incredible expanse with the name Moananuiākea as a reminder to our people and the people of the world that we as, moana clans, are connected to Gaza by our sacred waters. I affirm my prayer and align my rituals and offerings with those of the ceremonial people of the world in the name of the protection and return of true autonomy to Palestine and all oppressed peoples. And I acknowledge all people standing in solidarity and conscious allyship who truly work towards a world free of genocide and war with Kamehameha III Kauikeaouli’s cree and prophesy with a slight change of tense, ‘e mau ke ea o ka ‘āina i ka pono i ka ‘oia‘i‘o.’ May the life of the land be perpetuated in righteousness, in the highest frequency of aloha, and in what is true to soul. Then with honor and deep love for the connections our mountain has gifted us, I remind our people that Palestine came to stand with us for our mountain. It is our sacred duty to stand with them now as the fight to survive these evil and horrifically brutal attacks of genocide carried out by Israhell, funded by our tax payers dollars under duress. It is our responsibility to rise powerfully unified with our hands and hearts open ready to be of service to our relatives of the ‘āina ki’owai o Palesetina. I humbly inquired a Palestinian friend I made these past three months for permission to seal this prayerful chant with the muslim words, ‘Inshallah Ameen,’ to pay homage to the god the people Gaza pray to and love. With her grace, I lift this chant with all my soul to Palestine.

So many of you enjoyed the way she mocked us and the way she taunted us with posting our children on her stories with the purpose of hurting us. Her actions incited an empty courage in many of you to cause people you don’t even know real harm. And sooo many you who preach about protecting women and protecting land ate all of that up and not only became complicit in her harm but made her out to be some kind of accountability hero. You championed someone who not only celebrates hurting people but who dedicates her life to making it harder for other women, other mothers, to tend to their responsibilities, their children, and show up for their community. It is absolutely despicable to have seen so many of you repeat her toxic behavior and bully women specifically of Lahaina as they did and continue to do everything they can to heal, grieve, and take care of their families. And so many of the people who loved this for them - brought out their arare and popcorn and not only watched but commented with hate - are in the same generation as the people who were being attacked. Hawaiian fathers, mothers, queer people. Auē ka hilahila. it’s like you guys were waiting for the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to take us all to the proverbial social media courts to be judged by the lehulehu without any consideration for our humanity or even our truth. My braddah @kaiboymusic asked me to chant on this powerful musical declaration of solidarity. Just the week before my fellow comrade and brilliant hoa aloha ‘āina @olapakauwila.wilz invited me to chant the kanikau he found in honor of Timoteo Ha’alilio that referenced the abundant waterways of Palestine. I included that particular line of the kanikau in the first line of this chant. I wanted to amplify the Palestinian liberation cry, ‘from the river to the sea,’ in the second line and intentionally addressed the ocean for its power and incredible expanse with the name Moananuiākea as a reminder to our people and the people of the world that we as, moana clans, are connected to Gaza by our sacred waters. I affirm my prayer and align my rituals and offerings with those of the ceremonial people of the world in the name of the protection and return of true autonomy to Palestine and all oppressed peoples. And I acknowledge all people standing in solidarity and conscious allyship who truly work towards a world free of genocide and war with Kamehameha III Kauikeaouli’s cree and prophesy with a slight change of tense, ‘e mau ke ea o ka ‘āina i ka pono i ka ‘oia‘i‘o.’ May the life of the land be perpetuated in righteousness, in the highest frequency of aloha, and in what is true to soul. Then with honor and deep love for the connections our mountain has gifted us, I remind our people that Palestine came to stand with us for our mountain. It is our sacred duty to stand with them now as the fight to survive these evil and horrifically brutal attacks of genocide carried out by Israhell, funded by our tax payers dollars under duress. It is our responsibility to rise powerfully unified with our hands and hearts open ready to be of service to our relatives of the ‘āina ki’owai o Palesetina. I humbly inquired a Palestinian friend I made these past three months for permission to seal this prayerful chant with the muslim words, ‘Inshallah Ameen,’ to pay homage to the god the people Gaza pray to and love. With her grace, I lift this chant with all my soul to Palestine.

Caption : Kū Kia‘i Palekekina I wanted to share a little bit about how this came to be. My braddah @kaiboymusic asked me to chant on this powerful musical declaration of solidarity. Just the week before my fellow comrade and brilliant hoa aloha ‘āina @olapakauwila.wilz invited me to chant the kanikau he found in honor of Timoteo Ha’alilio that referenced the abundant waterways of Palestine. I included that particular line of the kanikau in the first line of this chant. I wanted to amplify the Palestinian liberation cry, ‘from the river to the sea,’ in the second line and intentionally addressed the ocean for its power and incredible expanse with the name Moananuiākea as a reminder to our people and the people of the world that we as, moana clans, are connected to Gaza by our sacred waters. I affirm my prayer and align my rituals and offerings with those of the ceremonial people of the world in the name of the protection and return of true autonomy to Palestine and all oppressed peoples. And I acknowledge all people standing in solidarity and conscious allyship who truly work towards a world free of genocide and war with Kamehameha III Kauikeaouli’s cree and prophesy with a slight change of tense, ‘e mau ke ea o ka ‘āina i ka pono i ka ‘oia‘i‘o.’ May the life of the land be perpetuated in righteousness, in the highest frequency of aloha, and in what is true to soul. Then with honor and deep love for the connections our mountain has gifted us, I remind our people that Palestine came to stand with us for our mountain. It is our sacred duty to stand with them now as the fight to survive these evil and horrifically brutal attacks of genocide carried out by Israhell, funded by our tax payers dollars under duress. It is our responsibility to rise powerfully unified with our hands and hearts open ready to be of service to our relatives of the ‘āina ki’owai o Palesetina. I humbly inquired a Palestinian friend I made these past three months for permission to seal this prayerful chant with the muslim words, ‘Inshallah Ameen,’ to pay homage to the god the people Gaza pray to and love. With her grace, I lift this chant with all my soul to Palestine.
