Jeremy Padawer Instagram - $800. That’s what Jobs, Woz and Wayne agreed upon for the 10% of Apple in 1976. I can’t imagine how painful that realization has been for the now 89 year old Wayne.

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - The day has finally come.
A day in the making 25 years!
Twitter.com will now point to X.com.
Likely, Boring, SpaceX, Neuralink, Tesla and other key Musk assets will over time.

25+ years ago, I had an option on the x.com domain name. Here's a more detailed story, as I've reviewed my old notes.

A programmer named Rob Walker owned X.com domain. I had watched it for some time. Prior, Rob owned the X.com name with other programmers (I believe).

In my prior recollection, the X.com name was owned by Eric Ziegast. And, I was almost correct - that was Z.com! Another 1 letter domain name that I attempted to purchase in the late 1990's.

I was an early "domainer" buying, selling generic domain names. I owned act.com and sold it in 2000 to Symantec in one of the largest domain name transactions ever (at the time). I also owned names like Uninsured.com, Schmuck.com, Jeremy.com (my first name / I continue to own that), and PacificPalisades.com (my city / still own). I sold approximately 100 one word, generic domain names. I have so many fun stories of domain names bought, sold... and some tough ones too.

I tried to keep it very much above board. I felt guilty about owning JohnKennedy.com, a name that was providing 1500 hits / day, and great Amazon affiliate revenue, so I sold it to a Louisiana Congressman. John Kennedy. A colorful man to this day.

It was like mining for gold. Digital, invisible gold.

But, what made it especially interesting was that these names had intrinsic value. You could add links / banners and achieve a CPM with advertisers. Act.com received thousands of visits daily. It was printing money.

X.com was a grail. I didn't have the money yet. A year later and I could have run with it.

Rob sold the name to Elon. I'm assuming for $10,000.

I reached out to Elon.

Elon said, "No."

And that was that!

What a life. Hahahah. Entrepreneurship has been a rollercoaster.

And if not you, why not instill a sense that anything is possible with hard work, diligence and resilience to your children?!

Bottom line - the next multi billion unit selling company will be created practically every single year…! ❤️

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - In high school, I wrote 1,000 letters to the most important, successful, fascinating people of the 20th century. I asked “what has been your greatest accomplishment?”

These letters helped me understand that remarkable people were real, accessible and human. If THEY were human, why couldn’t I, a kid from Memphis, aspire to do something really interesting as well?

I’ll never forget opening the mailbox only to find the sky blue envelope with raised light purple letterhead. Elizabeth Taylor!

“I do appreciate the thought that I fit the description of one of the most important women of the 20th century. I believe my efforts to find a cure for AIDS is my greatest accomplishment.”

Taylor had started the foundation the year prior (1991) and over 30 years later the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation continues their mission “to care for the most vulnerable patients until the end of HIV/AIDS.”

I attempted to publish the book “in their own words” in 1993. Failed to find a publisher. I was a teenager after all. But, walked away with the most remarkable gift - a lifetime reminder that we are all human, we are all accessible, and, in the best of times, we’re all in this together. ❤️

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - In high school, I wrote 1,000 letters to the most important, successful, famous, infamous, known people of the 20th century. I asked, “what has been your greatest accomplishment?”

I was uncertain as to what I was going to be doing with my life, but I knew that I wanted to do something that would lead to financial success and some notoriety. It was a big ask for a kid from the Deep South without connections, and a lot of future student loans. These letters helped me understand that remarkable people were real, accessible and human. If THEY were human, why couldn’t I aspire to do something really cool or great as well?

On July 4th, our Independence Day, I share you a letter from Ed McMahon, who served during World War 2, the Korean War, and Vietnam.

In World War 2, McMahon acted as a flight instructor for the Marine Corps. He remained in active duty after the war and achieved six Air Medals for flying 85 combat missions over North Korea.

McMahon's active duty ended in 1966...
4 years AFTER becoming the greatest co-host in American television history.

And, in this particular time in 1992, just a few months after retiring from the Tonight Show, McMahon wrote me back... Me. A 18 year old from nowhere with big aspirations and no specific plan other than college.

Of the 1,000 letters I sent, I received so many directional, substantive, heartfelt responses.

Please note on July 4th, the United States Independence Day, that Ed McMahon was both a funny sidekick on TV... and also a soldier who fought for America.

Happy July 4th. ❤️

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - I’ll admit I got caught up in the moment. It’s absolutely a 6-figure helmet. Is it $500k? I’m not sure. The ONLY complete Pokémon PSA 10 Trainer Deck A set on the planet. Took 4 years. 12 cards. The Trainer Deck A & B cards were shipped prior to 1st edition. They have red backs with “Trainer Deck” called out. These cards were so heavily played, and prior to the craze and collectibility, that they are painfully rare. Prior to the initial Pokémon cards in US, these red back trainer cards were shipped to US card shops to play, learn and train in the Pokémon game. Critical to the lore and history.

I believe Trainer Deck cards are amongst the most underrated of Pokémon card history…!

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - This is why I love Twitter. You just never know who might respond!
So, who do you think is the 2nd greatest wrestler of all time?!
Jeremy Padawer Instagram - We run our sales meetings a little differently at Jazwares!!
Jeremy Padawer Instagram - Colleges sell a promise to kids that leveraging their future is worth it… they charge the same price regardless of degree.

Student loans can be rough - the kids who get hit the hardest are the idealists who at 18 blindly trust… often going after degrees that benefit us all. Teachers come to mind.

There is virtually no institutional accountability. ROI matters. Holding institutions accountable should be part of the equation.

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - A complete set of 1996 Carddass Charizard PSA 10. Maybe less than 5 complete sets in existence?

#000 PSA 10 Charizard Trainer (pop 10)
#6 PSA 10 Charizard Prism Red (pop 50ish)
#6 PSA 10 Charizard Prism Green (pop 30ish)

The red and green are together in the pop report (87 total).

Some believe Carddass is the first set. I believe it very likely hit the street first.

I’ve never received the complete story on Carddass vs Topsun. My belief is that the Topsun license might have been first signed. Style guide appears to be the oldest based on many conversations I’ve had. Art and dating. However, Carddass appears to be distributed first - first in consumer hands. The question of printing will never be known. If Topsun was licensed, printed and held in a warehouse - explaining the 1995 mark - will remain a mystery. How 1995 mark was ever reviewed and approved in such a comprehensive system will remain a mystery.

Carddass appears to have the best clear claim to 1st in consumers hands. And, over time, that makes the 3 Carddass cards in the set Green Prism, Red Prism and 000 Trainer very rare and worthwhile in Pokémon history… and without further information, they may be the true rookie cards.

The most comprehensive review and tracking of this set is done by @maxmaxcity - a seriously committed and passionate collector.

Some opinion above!! ❤️❤️

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - In 2004, we made this 1:100 NY Toy Fair Dragonball Z Frieza Saga Battle Damaged Vegeta. I’ve never seen it offered for sale. We included a free, gold Chibi.

I think it’s funny we called the Chibi free… in that this was a media giveaway. LOL

I was 29 when we made these - IF you were in our NY showroom that Feb 2004, we handed out 1:100's for WWE (Warrior), Mucha Lucha, DBZ, Van Helsing, Classic Monsters, Yu Yu Hakusho and more. Insane. What a haul.

Super duper rare #DragonBallZ
Jeremy Padawer Instagram - Another NY Toy Fair almost in the books.
Jeremy Padawer Instagram - My good friend Gerrick Johnson visited our Jazwares NY Toy Fair exhibit - with a big surprise! He claimed that as a teenager he had broken many of the pack algorithms. Ok to be fair the cards were packed consecutively so many of you also already know this! But somehow I’ve ever forgotten or never knew! Watch us break a pack to reveal exactly who Gerrick was looking for!
@sararosalesmontalvo - thanks for jumping in lol! @gjilla_productions great hack!
Jeremy Padawer Instagram - A few auctions I’m watching very closely closing in a few hours… with predictions.

1) 1996 Pokémon TCG No Rarity Symbol PSA 10 Charizard. It’s an absolute grail. The pop report is 8. I’ve heard it’s slightly less. Ultimately this sells for a multiple of the 1999 1st edition PSA 10 Charizard. We might be a generation from that. In my opinion, it’s that big of a card. It’s not as underrated as the 1996 PSA 10 Carddass historically, but it’s vastly underrated. And it’s tempting. It’s 1 of a very few cards I’m missing pre-2000 PSA 10 Charizard and Pikachu. Current bid is $126,000 with BP. My estimation is $300-$350k w BP. Anything below $250k is remarkable in my opinion with serious long term upside. And today may show just how big this card is already. (FINAL / REALIZED AUCTION PRICE - $300,000… within my $300-$350k estimate.)

2) 1999 1st edition Charizard PSA 10. It’s the most famous Pokémon card - the grail people know. The PSA 10 pop report has barely moved in years. In the past few years this card has settled into the $210-230k range. They rarely come up for auction. 2-3x per year. Current bid $120k with BP. My estimation is $210-$230k w BP. (FINAL / REALIZED AUCTION PRICE - $218,750… within my $210-$230k estimate.)

3) - 4) 1999 1st edition Blastoise and Venosaur PSA 10. Low ppp. Current bid $13,500 w BP for Blastoise. Selling $23,000 - $25,000 most recently. Estimation $25,000 due to rarity. Venosaur Estimation $12,500-$15,000. (FINAL / REALIZED AUCTION PRICE - $21,250 and $11,875… about 15% and 5% below my final bid expectation.)

5) The Pikachu Illustrator PSA 9 closes in 4 days and it’s the grail of grails… it’s the Honus of Pokémon. While the 1st edition Charizard 1999 is the 1952 Mantle.

Jeremy Padawer Instagram - Fascinating watching back to back auctions on Heritage Auctions today. The same card in consecutive auctions.

1999 Unlimited Charizard:
* Lot 36073 PSA 10 - $11,250
* Lot 36074 CGC 10 - $3,375

What's telling is that it's the same pool of bidders. These auctions were consecutive.

In addition, there appears to be a CGC 10 premium versus PSA 9. The PSA 9 1999 Unlimited Charizard sells for approximately $1,200. So it appears that the CGC 10 would be roughly the equivalent to a PSA 9.5 (if that existed).

PSA 10 - $11,250
CGC 10 - $3,375
PSA 9 - $1,200

Fascinating stuff! Would be interesting to see if this 3 - 3.5X premium is true across the board for PSA 10 vs CGC 10... and for CGC 10 vs PSA 9.

Jeremy Padawer - 585 Likes - The day has finally come.

Bottom line - the next multi billion unit selling company will be created practically every single year…! ❤️

Jeremy Padawer - 530 Likes - In high school, I wrote 1,000 letters to the most important, successful, fascinating people of the 20th century.

I’m proud to be an alumni, and to continue to contribute to scholarships, student focus investments and the future of innovation. You don’t have to go to a top 25, 50, 100 school or to college at all - to be a very successful person. Student loans can be rough - the kids who get hit the hardest are the idealists who at 18 blindly trust… often going after degrees that benefit us all. Teachers come to mind.

There is virtually no institutional accountability. ROI matters. Holding institutions accountable should be part of the equation.

Jeremy Padawer - 290 Likes - A complete set of 1996 Carddass Charizard PSA 10.

Jeremy Padawer - 284 Likes - In 2004, we made this 1:100 NY Toy Fair Dragonball Z Frieza Saga Battle Damaged Vegeta.

Jeremy Padawer - 273 Likes - A few auctions I’m watching very closely closing in a few hours… with predictions.

The first 4 auctions close on @heritagetcg @heritageauctions in about 2 hours. The illustrator on @goldinco in 4 days.

The first 4 auctions close on @heritagetcg @heritageauctions in about 2 hours. The illustrator on @goldinco in 4 days.

Caption : A few auctions I’m watching very closely closing in a few hours… with predictions. Jeremy Padawer - 270 Likes - Fascinating watching back to back auctions on Heritage Auctions today. The same card in consecutive auctions.

1999 Unlimited Charizard:
* Lot 36073 PSA 10 - $11,250
* Lot 36074 CGC 10 - $3,375

Jeremy Padawer - 236 Likes - This is gorgeous. Pop 2 / 1938 PROOF wheat back Lincoln penny on eBay.

It's spectacular.

I love vintage coins.

My entire life. Collected coins at age 4. My brother would take me to the flea market.
