Jon Lajoie Instagram - 15 years ago, I recorded this little song in my tiny apartment on the south shore of Montreal. I had a slower-than-an-IPhone 4 desktop computer, a cracked version of Protools (don’t tell anyone), a cheap mic, an old guitar, and a lot of spare time. No label, no money, no expectations… It was just for fun. And it was fun. Fun to write, fun to record, fun to shoot the video on a garbage camcorder with friends and family…. Today it passed 200 million plays on Spotify. Absolute insanity. For context, “Thong Song” has 186 million plays. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, make things purely for the fun of it, because who knows… Maybe one day, you too, could be bigger than Sisqo.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - In these surreal, frightening times, I've been realizing more than ever how helplessly reliant and dependent I am, as a non-smart person, on all the incredibly intelligent, hard-working professionals who've dedicated their lives to becoming experts in their respective fields. To the doctors, healthcare workers, epidemiologists, immunologists, microbiologists, and all the other "ists," we would be F&#ked without you. Thank you for all the years of studying and work you put in in order to be ready to go to battle for us right now.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - MC Too Few Bars. I was suppose to get some work done in my studio today, instead I did this.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Went to see my brother from another TV mother @steverannazzisi ’s hilarious and incredibly moving show Please Forget at the Edinburgh Fringe festival yesterday. It’s honest as fuck storytelling, and funny as hell. GO SEE IT if you’re in Edinburgh this weekend. 4:30pm @ The Caves today and tomorrow. There’s nothing like it at the Fringe. #edinburghfringe

Jon Lajoie Instagram - There are a lot of good Christmas Songs, but only one is the best. This song is 11 years old this year, and remains the only Christmas song to ever ask “What does Santa’s neck look like?” Happy Holidays friends
Jon Lajoie Instagram - I know I seem pretty chill, but this is how I feel on the inside. #tbt
Jon Lajoie Instagram - I grew up with eight brothers and sisters, you’d think it would be easy to get lost in the fold. I never expected my father to make it to any of my weeknight hockey matches, especially since most of my siblings played sports or were involved in extra curricular activities. Yet, without fail, I’d inevitably look up into the stands and there he was, still in his work clothes, cheering me on. And strangely, all of my siblings had the same experience. I seriously think he invented a teleportation device. And to this day, everyone who is lucky enough to be in my father’s life has a similar experience. From his children, to his grandchildren, his friends, his neighbors, to his church community... How does he have the time to be lovingly present and so generous with his time for so many people simultaneously? Again, the teleportation device theory seems quite plausible. But then again, I think it might just be love. Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever made in the world. I love you.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Had fun drinking whiskey and chatting about Mortal Kombat 2, amongst other fun things, with my friend the hilarious @cheetosantino. He won the “who wore the best T-shirt” contest. By far. Check out the latest episode of The Whiskey Ginger podcast to hear all the important things we discuss.

Jon Lajoie Instagram - Doing some spring cleaning and came across all the mini DV tapes from my old Youtube videos. Whoa. This makes me feel old. Hey kids, these tapes, a bulky camcorder, and a desktop computer with a pirated version of Final Cut used to be what it took to make the equivalent of a Tik Tok video. If you don’t know what a desktop computer is, it’s like your phone, except 1000 times bigger, and 1000 times slower.
P.S. My handwriting has only gotten worse over the years.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - There isn't much about the insanity of the past year and a half that I'm going to miss... Well, except for this one little thing.
I will forever be in debt to all of the beautiful and brilliant humans who, in some way or another, have carried us through this thing, and continue to do so every day. What an incredible gift, and privilege, to be able to be annoyed by friends, in person, once again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Written and performed by Jon Lajoie

Jon Lajoie Instagram - She not only gave birth to and raised nine children, but she did it without the internet, cell phones, or even cable. That alone should earn her a place in the motherhood hall of fame. She made sure we all felt loved, and special, while somehow keeping us all fed, healthy, and happy. She never complained, and even more impressively, never once made fun of my haircut and earring. Not once. She always encouraged me to pursue acting, music, and the arts, which in hindsight is reckless parenting, but I’m incredibly grateful that she believed in me even when I didn’t. Today she is the funnest, silliest, most playful grandma ever to her 11 grandchildren (and counting), a shining light in her community, and still the best mom ever made in the world. I love you so much, mom. Thank you for EVERYTHING. Happy Mother’s Day
Jon Lajoie Instagram - I’m spring cleaning/bored as fuck so I’m going through my old mini DV camera tapes and digitizing the old footage from the early Youtube days. So many memories. This is the first shot of the first comedy song/music video I ever made. I’m alone in Saint-Bruno National Park, my little iPod in my pocket, one headphone in my left ear (hidden by my sexy boy hair) so I can lip sync to the song. You can see me look around before I start singing to make sure no one is around. I must have looked strange. I’m not one to give advice to anyone, but I want to hug this 27 year old version of myself and thank him for trying something new, and for following the little voice inside of him that said “Give it a shot, what do you have to lose?” It’s so easy to NOT try to do new things, to push outside of our comfort zone. I know I find it way harder with age. But if you happen to hear that voice calling you to try your hand at something new, maybe take a beat before ignoring it. You never know, maybe you too could be the “High as Fuck” guy for the rest of your life. 😊 #tbt #throwbackthursday
Jon Lajoie Instagram - This is the 2nd single off of WOLFIE’S JUST FINE’S forthcoming album “Everyone Is Dead Except Us” out June 16th.

Hey friends, this song is an ode to a window of time in my childhood when the world felt simple, and unfettered and unfiltered joy was still easily accessible. A time when Hulk Hogan defeating Andre the Giant meant that everything was going to be okay for ever and ever. When playing with my WWF wrestling figurines in my backyard with my older brother was more thrilling and exciting than any roller coaster ride or $200 million dollar blockbuster film. As an adult, I rarely have access to that kind of emotional exhilaration anymore because, you know, life. However, that pure, blissful, unadulterated, child-like joy is so powerful, that even the memory of it can cause a small portion to travel through time to the present and put a silly smile on my solemn forty-two year-old face.

To add to the joy of it all, my mom makes her award-worthy acting debut here as "Grandma" and my nephews were pitch perfect as "Brothers in the late 80s playing with WWF wrestling figurines in the backyard” (Thank you to my brother Jer and sister-in-law Mel for kindly and recklessly letting me borrow the boys for the afternoon). Also a big thank you to my brother Jason for loaning me his precious collection of vintage LJN figurines, objectively the best toys ever made.

Jon Lajoie Instagram - I wrote this song for my father 18 years ago. It was my Father’s Day gift to him. I had been playing guitar and writing songs for a couple of years by then and since I had no money to buy him anything, I figured sharing my feelings in song might be a little better than nothing. I don’t really remember writing the song, I think it just flowed out of me in one afternoon. It was at a time in our relationship where we were trying to find our way back to each other after my tumultuous and rebellious teen years. I was now a young adult, beginning to make my own way in the world, and I’m pretty sure this was my way of telling him that he had done a good job, that I appreciated him, and that I was going to be okay. But also, that I knew he was a special guy, and that I was grateful that he specifically had been my example of how a man should show up in the world.

Anyway, I recorded a quick version of the song after I wrote it, and gave it to him on something we used to call a “Compact Disc.” I remember being nervous, but playing it cool (because, you know, dudes), genuinely not knowing how he’d respond. Well, I guess he liked it, because he spent the next 18 years telling me over and over that I should record it and put it out into the world. I told him that it was for him and wasn’t meant to be anything else, but he was annoyingly persistent, so I eventually gave in and promised him that one day I would. But the time never really felt right, and the idea of sharing this song with anyone but him and the family always felt strange. Until now.

In January, I sang it at his funeral, and needless to say, it was incredibly difficult to get through. But as I sang it, it struck me that the words almost felt truer and more honest now than when I wrote them all those years ago. And so, in May I flew to Nashville and recorded this new version with the incredibly talented producer, and altogether good dude, Jordan Lehning. And since my father LOVED it when the musically-inclined Lajoie family members would play and sing together, they are singing all the harmonies on the track.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad, this one’s for you. We love and miss you with all of our hearts.

If you enjoy this music a) that makes me happy, and b) please share it with anyone you think might enjoy it as well. Just a quick reminder/disclaimer that WOLFIE'S JUST FINE is my super not funny music project. It’s a real labor of love, and I put a lot of work into this album in particular, with the help of a lot of talented and altogether lovely humans. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you over the next few months. This song in particular is special to me and close to my heart. It’s my way of reminding myself how very temporary and incredibly rare this whole “being alive” thing is, and to perhaps enjoy and cherish the clothing while I’m wearing it.

Jon Lajoie Instagram - This is my love letter to the 1990 B-Horror movie Tremors, which, for many reasons, had a big impact on me as a 10 year old (and subsequently, for the rest of my life). A little backstory…

The songs I write as Wolfie’s Just Fine often take place in the worlds of pop culture from my youth. Without saying too much about it, the Wolfie’s Just Fine EP “Perfection, Nevada” thematically lives in the world of the movie Tremors, and the song “Trying to Sleep” is written from the point of view of one of the Graboids. I’ve always wanted to shoot a music video for this song, but in the end, the visuals I saw were so intertwined with the movie that it kind of felt like sacrilege to attempt to superimpose other images onto it. And since I’m social distancing, and have A LOT of time on my hands, I made this.
Breaking it down shot by shot was an absolute joy, and made me love and appreciate the movie even more than I already did. I’m forever grateful that the director, Ron Underwood, screenwriters Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson, and the entire cast and crew came together 30 years ago to make a strange and unique piece of timeless pop culture, that, not only entertained me, but provided a world for me to explore and get lost in 30 years later.
p.s. Disclaimer!! I don’t own the rights to any of the footage (Universal does!). I’m not making money off this video in any way (it’s not monetized anywhere), and so I hope maybe the creators and copyright owners will see this for what it is, a loving homage to their brilliant, and lasting work. (And free promotion! It’s streaming on Netflix right now, go watch it!)

Jon Lajoie Instagram - Making the music video for “Hulk Hogan Slammed Andre the Giant” was a magical experience, and really brought out the child-like joy in all of us. The video is as special as it is because of the following people:

@justinslademcclain
There is no video without Justin Slade McClain (Or there’d be a really bad one shot on my iPhone on my back porch). He not only co-directed it with me, but was the DP, production designer, camera operator… Basically, he did all the beautiful work you see, and I got to say “Maybe the shot should be a little wider here?” once in a while. He was my creative partner in this, or more accurately, I was his creative partner. He did the filmmaking equivalent of lifting a 520 lbs giant and slamming him.

@marquesvmallare AC extraordinaire brought his A game into the ring, and a contagious lightness of spirit that brought laughter and smiles on set even when the match wasn’t going our way.

@cjmorarocks Art Department / Puppeteer who not only controlled the chaos of everything you see on screen, but was one of two puppeteers who breathed life and humanity into these
motionless vintage LJN rubber wrestlers.

@walleyewilds was our wonderful gaffer who lit these wrestlers gorgeously, and was also the second puppeteer responsible bringing humanity to 35 year old hunks of rubber.

@dunphy7 Our editor who turned 6 hours of footage into a nuanced, gentle 4-minute emotional journey into the past.

@midnightdogs for bringing the 80s VHS vibe to our fam footage

@rkmstudios_color for once again giving our footage a glorious, nuanced cinematic beauty that gives everyone the impression that we had the budget of a Spielberg movie.

Last but not least, the heart of the video, the boys and grandma. It was an honor, and such an incredibly beautiful and emotionally layered experience to recreate a moment from my childhood with my family. There were 3 generations of Lajoies involved! My nephews played the role of the “the boys” and my mother played “Grandma.” My brother Jer and my sister-in-law Mel were on set as well. And the classic LJN figures and the championship belt were from my older brother Jason’s collection.

Peak life/creative experience ❤️

Jon Lajoie Instagram - Making the music video for “Hulk Hogan Slammed Andre the Giant” was a magical experience, and really brought out the child-like joy in all of us. The video is as special as it is because of the following people:

@justinslademcclain

Jon Lajoie Instagram - Hey friends, I had the real joy and honor to get to write the songs for the musical episode of the absolutely mind-blowingly good series The AfterParty, and to collaborate with the dream team of @chrizmillr , @rejectedjokes , @thesamrichardson , @jackdolgen, and Daniel Pemberton. It's so much fun, the cast is insane, you won’t want to miss it. It’s out today on AppleTV, and if you don't have AppleTV the first episode is up on Youtube for free!
Jon Lajoie Instagram - My fellow Canadians, my dear friend, and all-together brilliant human (and co-director of many of my Wolfie and comedy videos), @brandondermer made an incredibly moving, wildly original, and hilarious movie that is available in C to the ananda as of today! It’s got it all… Aliens, grief, healing, Papa Roach, tears, drugs, road trips, @jillianbell, @nataliemoralesloves, and @blakeanderson as a terrible bass player. It’s available to rent or buy everywhere. Support independent movies! Woohoo!
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Friday the 13th feels like an appropriate day to announce that a new Wolfie’s Just Fine single and music video are coming May 4th. More soon! Happy F13!
Jon Lajoie Instagram - If I could fit most Wolfie’s Just Fine pop culture references, past and future, into one image… Can you spot them all? There are a few hints in there about some tracks on the new album (out next week). Gorgeously vintage art by the immensely talented @gibsongraphix.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Looks like the fashion world has finally caught up to MC Vagina.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - I’m a day late for #nationalsiblingday, but here are the baby pics of all nine Lajoie siblings (I’m on the top right). I’m so incredibly grateful to have landed on this planet surrounded by such beautiful, loving, and kind people. Also, I’m really sorry for all the terror I unleashed on a lot of you during my terrible teens! I love you, I’m so proud of you all, and I’m so happy we have each other. Also, shoutout to my parents for how the f$&k did you raise nine kids are you insane!!? Love you all so much.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Wednesday morning. New video. Steve topless. No Joke. #youwantsomeofthis?
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Just balled my face off watching The Resurrection of Jake the Snake on Netflix. Heart-breaking, heart-warming, beautiful, and inspiring for anyone who's ever suffered with addiction. Love you, Jake! #jakethesnakeroberts
Jon Lajoie Instagram - This song’s been stuck inside my head for a year, it’s great to finally be able to annoy other people with it! Had a blast writing this with @dillonfrancis @tpain and the awesome @thatgirllaylay LEGO 2 out Feb 8th!
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Album art and a shot from my new Wolfie’s Just Fine song and video coming next week (05/18). If you’re old enough, you might have an idea of what it’s about.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Things were already feeling pretty post-apocalyptic before running into a coyote just chilling in the middle of a normally busy LA street, in the middle of the day. Maybe he’s just social distancing from his pack like the rest of us? Good coyote.
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Spending quality time with my little sis. #thanksgiving
Jon Lajoie Instagram - Joan Lajoie and @CheetoSantino. Such a handsome couple
Jon Lajoie - 6.8K Likes - 15 years ago, I recorded this little song in my tiny apartment on the south shore of Montreal.

To the doctors, healthcare workers, epidemiologists, immunologists, microbiologists, and all the other "ists," we would be F&#ked without you. Thank you for all the years of studying and work you put in in order to be ready to go to battle for us right now.

Jon Lajoie - 3.7K Likes - I grew up with eight brothers and sisters, you’d think it would be easy to get lost in the fold. I love you.

Jon Lajoie - 2.9K Likes - I’m spring cleaning/bored as fuck so I’m going through my old mini DV camera tapes and digitizing the old footage from the early Youtube days.

Jon Lajoie - 2.7K Likes - This is the 2nd single off of WOLFIE’S JUST FINE’S forthcoming album “Everyone Is Dead Except Us” out June 16th.

Jon Lajoie - 1.8K Likes - I wrote this song for my father 18 years ago.

What a joy it was to recreate this historic match with the toys that embodied pure magic and imagination for me (and so many of us) as children. Jon Lajoie - 1.2K Likes - Hey all, this is the first single off of my forthcoming WOLFIE'S JUST FINE album "Everyone Is Dead Except US," out June 16th. Streaming link in bio.

Jon Lajoie - 1.1K Likes - This is my love letter to the 1990 B-Horror movie Tremors, which, for many reasons, had a big impact on me as a 10 year old (and subsequently, for the rest of my life).

Jon Lajoie - 1K Likes - Making the music video for “Hulk Hogan Slammed Andre the Giant” was a magical experience, and really brought out the child-like joy in all of us. The video is as special as it is because of the following people:

@justinslademcclain

Caption : Making the music video for “Hulk Hogan Slammed Andre the Giant” was a magical experience, and really brought out the child-like joy in all of us. The video is as special as it is because of the following people: @justinslademcclain There is no video without Justin Slade McClain (Or there’d be a really bad one shot on my iPhone on my back porch). @cjmorarocks Art Department / Puppeteer who not only controlled the chaos of everything you see on screen, but was one of two puppeteers who breathed life and humanity into these motionless vintage LJN rubber wrestlers. @midnightdogs for bringing the 80s VHS vibe to our fam footage @rkmstudios_color for once again giving our footage a glorious, nuanced cinematic beauty that gives everyone the impression that we had the budget of a Spielberg movie. It's so much fun, the cast is insane, you won’t want to miss it. It’s out today on AppleTV, and if you don't have AppleTV the first episode is up on Youtube for free!

I’m so incredibly grateful to have landed on this planet surrounded by such beautiful, loving, and kind people. Also, I’m really sorry for all the terror I unleashed on a lot of you during my terrible teens! I love you, I’m so proud of you all, and I’m so happy we have each other. Caption : I’m a day late for #nationalsiblingday, but here are the baby pics of all nine Lajoie siblings (I’m on the top right).
