Caption : “Uhh, sorry I missed Christmas, guys. But I’m here for the big game!” Do not let this video fool you. It is actually a trick of the camera and birthing him required quite a bit more work than this. This is smoke and mirrors, entertainment! Welcome, Baby Cal! Born 1/6/23 five days past his due date and 11 days past any other kid I’ve had, (and posterior, no thank you!) throwing curves from Day One! He’s 8lb 5oz and a tall 22.5 in of mellow kiddo so far. His formal name is Caladin Jon. We both liked Cal but couldn’t land on a traditional formal version, so we borrowed this one from the hero one of my husband’s favorite novels, “The Way of Kings,” which also happens to be the audiobook our 1-yr-old uses as her white noise, so it gets a lot of rotation and has a lot of meaning in this family. Jon is my dad and brother’s name! Both names are unconventional and/or with unconventional spellings, sorry kid, but we think Cal will save him from a lifetime of spelling corrections. 😂 If not, builds character! Whole family is doing well, husband was an indispensable coach again this time for a tougher, longer birth, and the big sisters are adjusting to this strange creature called a brother. Caption : One week home, one college football national championship ❤️🏈🖤, zero good pics of all 4 kids together. 🤷🏻♀️ Everyone is still hanging in there! Cal has met his grandparents and a whole zoo of cousins. He is a calm baby and a solid sleeper so far and his mother thanks him for it. 💙 Thanks to Steve and then my parents and now his parents helping us out, and my sweet Mama friends for sending food, all letting me hang out in bed with a newborn, read mysteries, and get rest!Likes : 4356

Caption : Well, well, well, #fourthkid is the ✨only✨ one to get a gender reveal. Now, this child can never come at about an unfinished baby book bc I’m gonna be there with this receipt. Am I an influencer now?! In making this video, I realized I don’t own a pink dress or sweater or anything? I had to use Steve’s linen shirt for tropical vacations. On my first two kids, I did total surprise and only found out they were girls at birth. For the 3rd and 4th, dad got to choose whether we found out and I let him call the midwives to get the reveal. Also, did I do a gender reveal that involves literally no one else in my family? Yes, because getting kids and husband and dog involved is complicated. Keep it simple! So, 🎀🎀🎀❓#geriatricpregnancy #fourthkid #genderrevealLikes : 3991

If you’re doing the math, yes, I just had a baby. This is a different one. This is for real my last pregnancy so maybe I’ll do more content on it, take some questions, etc. If you have some, about being old and pregnant, birth centers, midwives, this infernal glucose test, what have you, drop them in comments or message me! I’ll keep you updated on my test. Currently not feeling awful, but I’m only 1 hr in. #geriatricpregnancy #glucosetest #momlife #pregnancyannouncement #babynumber4Likes : 2914

Caption : A pleasure to be able to disagree with my old friend Juan in person once again, and not just bc he insisted we take a pic showing off the guns (which are not yet in peak condition, but my heavy toddler and baby are helping!), but that didn’t hurt. Thanks to @shannonbream for having me! She is the totalest of total pros on @foxnewssunday. Swipe for a normal photo if that’s your thing. Someone on Twitter suggested I spend some of my money on sleeves for my dresses. To that I say NEVER. 💪🏼Likes : 2817

Caption : When it’s probably the last Christmas party you’re making it to this year, you take your two big kids and your green disco ball baby out too late and eat too many cookies @ksoltisanderson’s house! I assume this the only time in my life when a maternity unitard, a green sequin tank top, an oversized 80s blazer with shoulder pads and these “Hot Tub Time Machine” ski lodge boots will be exactly the correct vibe, and I’m thankful I found my moment. Now, I’m wearing sweatpants for the rest of the year. ❤️🎄💚 Someone asked, so blazer = Goodwill, unitard = @nuuly, boots = thrift store, green top = BCBG outlet in the Year of our Lord 2003.Likes : 2584

![Mary Katharine Ham - 2.6K Likes - My friend Alice left us yesterday, far too soon. She was a real light in this world. Many people have used the word kind in paying tribute to her, and it’s not coincidence. She was unfailingly kind in a way that told everyone she met that she cared about what they cared about. It was probably that quality that made her so good at her job. At its best, public policy is an endeavor to understand what other people care about most and speak to it.
We shared a delight in the Dawgs, and in being the ideological outlier in a room, whether it was on a TV panel or a college campus. We both loved a good tough run and Jesus. I admired her so much.
We crossed paths in Little Rock, her longtime home, right before the pandemic. I was giving a speech, she was helping organize the Little Rock Marathon. We went out for a beer and talked about life in that way that comes a little easier when you’re in a city one of you calls home, away from the bustle of D.C. She gave me a recommendation for a hike and a BBQ joint. I tried both and almost missed my flight watching a sunrise at the top of an Arkansas peak. We laughed at the idea that we live mere miles from each other but saved getting together for a random night halfway across the country.
I saw her and stayed in touch plenty after that but that night felt special because it came before life changed in such unforeseeable ways. Now, it has changed again in an unforeseeable way.
We always said we should run together, but if I’m honest, she was too fast for me. It is hard to believe that this faithful servant has fought the good fight and finished her race. But if you knew Alice, you knew she was every day “running with perseverance the race marked out for [her], fixing [her] eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”
The last thing I said to her was she looked “GORGEOUS IN GOLD” for the White House Correspondents Dinner. She looked so great, it was worth all caps. This feels so awful and inexplicable here.
But I've heard the streets are gold where she is going, and I pray she is having the most gorgeous run there now. I'll miss her.](https://www.gethucinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Mary-Katharine-Ham-14-gdIaaX5241.jpg)

Caption : Costume szn is here. Steve and I had a legit argument about how best to affix the fox ears from a slutty fox costume to a Robin Hood hat and how to make an arrow out of a chop stick and some old peacock feathers and tin foil. But as you can see from Pic 2, the hat and arrow construction are solid. We arrived too late to be voted on for the costume contest and I’m kicking myself. That’ll teach me to be late to the party! I know this era of Disney isn’t supposed to be good, according to the critics and stuff, but I’ve always loved this movie. Maybe it’s the country crooner rooster.Likes : 2259

Caption : We are super thankful for this guy, who is among the most active and involved dads there is! We test his capacity for executive function and dedication daily, but he always comes through, rarely missing leg day, looking great in bunny ears and other costumes, and literally never forgetting to take out the trash. Really, it’s kind of amazing! The kids have learned so much from him, making them independent and self-sufficient in ways beyond their years. (The 18-month-old brings diapers and wipes, puts them back where they belong after diaper changes, and throws her dirty diapers in the trash.) It’s nearly impossible to get a pic of him with all four kids because it turns out having four kids involves a lot of passing them back and forth to each other in configurations of 2-and-2 or 3-and-1, but he is always there for all of them and for me. We love him and are lucky to have him! 💙🧔🏻♂️👩🏻👱🏻♀️👱🏼♀️👧🏼👶🏻🐺Likes : 2204

Media can be a crazy business, but there are moments it makes bonds that matter. I truly got the best end of that deal when the viewers watched me grow up on-air, get married, have kids, go through some of the worst life can dish out, and then so many supported and prayed for my family and me all these years. I hear from them often and I’m excited to see more of them in my new gig! Truly too many to name, but grateful for y’all. I will be here and on “Getting Hammered,” as always, as I try to keep my head and sense of humor about me as we march through yet another insane election year. Here we gooooooo! This is actually the go bag my stuff is in (very utilitarian husband grabbed it for my pile of stuff after I gathered it) and I should really put it in a backpack or something. I respect this mom’s game though I will never emulate it. For the record, I’m not even 40 wks yet, but all my other kids were early, so I’m spoiled. This one is hanging in there. Also, for the record, in this bag, I have comfy clothes, slippers, and my own face wash and lotion since it’s nice to pamper yourself a little in that first post-baby shower. I also rented a knit matching set from @nuuly, so I might even attempt some style on my way home. #thirdtrimester #pregnancyreelsLikes : 2025

Caption : This gal turned two! For those keeping count, that means we had two under two… for 9.5 months. And we’re still standing! A lot of the credit for that goes to Holly, who much like her father, has a GIANT personality and also loves a schedule. That means she sleeps. Hallelujah, can that girl sleep, from 6pm-7am, in the same room as her brother. When we say “bedtime for baby?” after two episodes of “Bluey,” our girl marches herself up the stairs to get her zzzzs. “Bye, guys! Bye, guys! Bye, Guggy!” (this is either doggie or Garnet, we’re not sure which) She is a woman of few words. She says “Dad” constantly, “wow” and “Scout” and “stop” and “don’t,” usually to her bro. She has a long-running joke where I ask her to say “Mama,” and she mouths it without actually saying anything and then laughs because, let’s face it, that’s funny. But she resorts to “Mama” when she’s very sad, which isn’t often. She is good-natured and very physical. The other day, I told her to say “please,” and I would lift her over the couch, and she was stubborn about “please” and simply hoisted herself over the couch with a ridiculous display of brute upper body strength. She is newly into books, but her brute strength makes her the first kid I’ve ever had capable of destroying board books. She might be the most problem-solving kid I’ve had. She untied, collapsed and removed the tent pole from her little play tent in the living room while I wasn’t looking the other day, then uncollapsed it to hold up in front of me. (Meanwhile, her brother is already saying “bottle” in an effort to defend himself against her when she steals his bottle, which is often). Watching her play is a bit like watching the velociraptors test the fences. “Clever girl.” She loves to clean (also gets that from Dad), brings her own diapers for diaper changes and throws the dirty ones away. She’s just started doing “big hugs” and will hug you and sigh and pat you on the back. Sings along with “Daniel Tiger” and loves cheese, ham, and anything I’m eating. She has made a lot of our lives possible the last 9 months by just being her and, boy, do we love her! Can’t wait to see her grow!Likes : 1941

Caption : We are doing Y2K Bingo with this picture I found of myself in the Year of our Lord, 2000! There are so many treasures here! Behold: MK gettin’ ready to go out in her messy college-era room, furnished with my childhood furniture because I had no money to buy anything else. It occurs to me that we curate photographs so much now, and cropping and ‘shopping are so easy, we will lose a lot of these kind of treasures from our pics in this decade. A photo of me in 2000 is fine, but the background is really the good stuff. A time capsule! You may notice, among all the silliness, that there is also a copy of Strunk & White on my nightstand because it is timeless and on brand. The full list: 1. Short hairstyle ala Kelly Taylor late 90210 era 2. Dep for spiking said hairstyle when in butterfly clips 3. Foundation too light for my skin 4. Spaghetti straps 5. Flare jeans, probably low-rise Mudds 6. Platform sandals for goin’ out 7. Adidas shell toes 8. Chunky boots I saved up to buy from Delia’s 9. My crappy foundation 10. Burnt CDs next to my… 11. Boom box 12. Clinique sampler bag 13. Stripey socks 14. Teen Study Bible with neon art 15. Copy of Cosmo (Not in version of pic that fit on Insta)Likes : 1861

I will be setting a goal to get her arms in 2023 tho. The big girls went rogue this year, and we scared the crap out of the baby trying to get her in costume and in this shot. Given that I wore this to a professional event, I think that’s all the more reason you should listen to “Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat” with @guypbenson and me. 😂But also because Meghan is a good interviewer and an interesting political observer, which is why her podcast is killing. Caption : STILL PREGNANT. So, let’s do content! Here are some of my favorite things from this pregnancy. @breatheright strips: I use these every pregnancy bc my nose does not work at night. There’s a lavender-scented version that is 🤌🏼. If your nose is stuffy with the pregnancy rhinitis, put these on your Amazon Subscribe and Save. Only downside: my iPhone doesn’t recognize my face with them on. @profemilyoster’s “Expecting Better.” I LOVE this book. It’s about the only book about pregnancy I recommend to my friends. I got it when I was pregnant with my second, and it was such a refreshing approach to pregnancy. Oh, yes, I WOULD like data and information with which to make my own risk calculations like I do as a grown-up in every other area of my life! Yay for that instead of demands for tee-totaling everything for sorta vaguely stated risks that seem to change every few years. I wanted salmon rolls all the time with No. 2. She was fine and I didn’t need to worry about it. Get this book and some peace of mind. Such a gift to pregnant ladies. @goodwillintl: I mean, where else am I gonna get this awesome reindeer shirt that I have worn all holiday season and is now begging for mercy bc I am too big for it? New clothes, less money. @freepeople @nuuly: Giant, wide-leg pants with elastic waists that I can rent. These are in style for everyone! I mean, I don’t have @emzanotti thrifting luck where I actually find luxury items. But I have VERY SPECIFIC thrift store luck, like when I looked at @killatrav’s outfit and that very day, I found a mustard yellow Liz Claiborne blazer, a mustard pleather pair of pants and a 90s ribbed, striped turtleneck in under 10 mins. I owned this hat and these comically matching chunky boots, too. I added a maroon striped sock that doesn’t tie it all together because you can’t see it, but I liked the *idea* of it. See the kids’ verdict in the video. Oddly enough, I think it was my husband, not the kids, who found my last outfit most cringey. Haha. (Also, apologies to my Bills fans friends. I did the outfit the thrift store gave unto me. It is not personal and I bought it before the game! I know that was a heartbreaker.) #nflgameday #gamedayfit #grwm #traviskelce #jasonkelce #traylor #chiefs #momstyleLikes : 1542

I know many kids have a hard time just memorizing lists of numbers, so maybe this can help some of your kids, and if not, it’s just kinda cool! My daughter really thrived once she had this trick to jog her memory. For other times tables, we use pictures and stories to help her remember (more on that if anyone’s interested) and slowly but surely, she’s getting to quick recall. It’s just a matter of how you get those things to stick in your brain, and different things work for different brains. Hope y’all enjoy this one even if you already know your 9s times tables. 😂 #math #mathtricks #mathskills #homeschool #sortaLikes : 1527

I discovered it by accident in the middle of the night and I was so happy! Also, I’m training this baby to take a pacifier. The last one didn’t like one and neither did he right away, but I’m slowly convincing him. He’s a fussier baby than his sister and I figure this might cut my toddler crying by roughly 50% when they’re both irrational. I need tools! Me to Steve, who rightly notes if they never start a pacifier, you never have to break the habit: “We’ll worry about it when he’s 3!” This pacifier is @mambaby_usa #fourthtrimester #newborn #newbornbaby #newbornlifeLikes : 1462

Also, I was lazy with this baby and did not train her to tolerate cute hats, so when I tried to put a beanie on her with a styrofoam hammer pinned to it, turns out she didn’t want it on. Go figure! Shout-out to Steve for handling a lot of the Thor costuming. I did 6 costumes for the family last year 8 days postpartum and I was kinda in need of a break. He also worked hard on his arms so as not to be shamed by Hemsworth, and I worked very hard on this belly so as not to be shamed by the Marvel costume/prosthetics department. #avengers #thorloveandthunder #marvel #halloweencostumeLikes : 1261

Caption : I woke up to snuggle with the baby, read with my big girls, taught my eldest some long division, Dutch braided my toddler’s hair, went back to @orangetheory for the first time post-baby, picked up the toddler’s Easter dress from @lyndseyfifield to complete our family lewk, talked to my friends on the phone, had great Indian food for lunch date with my husband, took my kids to a museum, bought them some Gummy Bear-scented shampoo on an errand (bc why not and I’m curious) and some purple tulips, arranged them in vases, had dinner, more long division, and I’m gonna read or watch a movie before I collapse. I will be very sore tomorrow. It was a great day. Hello, 43! “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Caption : Happy Father’s Day to my dad, from whom I got my classic sense of style, a tendency to say “what? You didn’t know that?” to my kids about things that happened long before they were born and they’d have no way of knowing, and my love of a good DIY, 85-93% completed. He most recently helped me get a nursery in order for these two babies, which I believe is the third nursery of mine he’s worked on. Thanks for everything, Daddy!Likes : 1220
