Taylor Hill Instagram - Last week Tate was diagnosed with lymphoma and three days later his health took a turn for the worse. He was taken to the emergency room on Wednesday and has been in the ICU since. I’ve been out of town working while all this has been happening and I just got back and got to see him today. I could tell he was in a lot of pain and he was very weak. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have left with him at this moment. It all happened so fast, he was fine one day and his normal self and within 24 hours he was the sickest I’ve ever seen him. He’s being treated and has been under the best care and I’m so thankful to all the nurses and doctors who are looking after him. Tate is my heart and my soul mate so it’s been extremely painful seeing him feeling this way. I’m sharing this because I know there are so many people out there who love Tate so much, he’s been such a big part of my life and I wanted to let everyone know what we’re going through. And I just want to thank everyone for loving Tate as much as you all have. I could always feel the love this community has had for him since he was just a little baby.

Taylor Hill Instagram - An update on Tate - HE MADE IT TO THE WEDDING! It was truly a miracle and I believe it was because he had so many people praying for him and sending him healing energy, that he was able to make it to our wedding. It meant so much to me to have him there with me on this day. There was a time earlier in the week that I thought he wouldn’t make it. It was the craziest timing with Tate’s health on a severe decline the week of our wedding and I’m just so happy he pulled through in the end. Today Tate is doing SO much better. We were able to get his feeding tube removed and he seems to have his appetite back and he’s eating again. He has energy and seems to be more like his normal self. He’s responding well to his medications and chemotherapy treatments. As long as he seems up for the fight so am I. So thank you yo everyone who held Tate close and in your heart. He was my first love so having him with me meant the world to me.

Taylor Hill Instagram - Last Wednesday we took Tate back to the emergency room because he seemed to be feeling pretty sick again. He was very lethargic, not moving and it seemed like he was having difficulty breathing. They admitted him back into the ICU and his doctors told us the cancer was progressing despite his chemotherapy treatments. His kidneys took another big hit and continuing with his treatment was no longer an option. He wasn’t strong enough and regardless of the cancer, because of his kidneys, he was not able to go on. I could tell he was in a lot of pain and really wasn’t feeling good. We ultimately had to make the very difficult decision to let Tate go. We checked him out of the hospital on Thursday and took him home so we could be with him and we were able to have a doctor come over to our apartment on Friday to help us say goodbye in a safe space where Tate knew he was only with the people who love him most. Tate to me is more than just dog, we had a very special bond as I’m sure so many people can relate to. This experience with cancer and having to say goodbye to Tate so soon and so quickly has been pretty devastating. I’m so grateful to him for pushing through for our wedding and really trying to get better, he gave us another month together and I cherish that time immensely. I know Tate was loved by so many people and I can feel that love everyday and it makes me still feel close to him. I miss him so much, I still call out his name sometimes thinking he’s there. He was truly apart of me and I feel like I’m missing a body part without him. Thank you to everyone at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York for fighting for Tate and taking such good care of him. I wouldn’t have gotten the time I had with him if it wasn’t for them. And thank you to everyone for loving Tate so strongly for the wonderful 9 years he was with us. He will always live on forever because he’s in the hearts of so many people. Rest in peace my beautiful little angel. You are the goodest boy ✨

Taylor Hill Instagram - An update on Tate- Monday of this week Tate was given a feeding tube because he wasn’t eating and needed nutrients in order to stay strong enough to receive chemotherapy treatments. Having the feeding tube has also allowed us to take Tate home! We can now easily feed him and administer his medications. We are so grateful have Tate back at home with us! He is still pretty sick and seems tired but once he got home I could tell his spirits were lifted. I’m spending every second I can with him and will continue to monitor him and make sure he’s feeling as good as he possibly can. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Tate and for sending all the love and positive energy, I can feel it so strongly and I truly believe it’s helping Tate heal and feel a little better. ❤️

Without you, these images that I will cherish for the rest of my life, wouldn’t exist. Thank you for making our special day live on forever. The flowers were done by the insanely talented @theoliveandpoppy and I had a big floral vision that was brought to life in the most beautiful way, even better than I could’ve imagined. And thank you @thesouthernloom for lending me your beautiful rugs for the ceremony. I have many of your rugs in my home and I wanted to feel the most at home during the wedding as I could, so it only made sense to have your rugs be apart of this day.
