Ty Pennington Instagram - From the red carpet, to the ICU… this last week has been interesting! I’m okay now, still recovering but I felt it looked weird that I hadn’t posted about my teams #BOTB VICTORY!! 🙌🏼 SO freaking proud of @smashingdiy & @iamstevelewis !! Will post about that next 🤓🥳 To shed some light on why I was MIA… Sunday I hit the red carpet for @barbiethemovie , monday I flew to Colorado to start filming in Breckenridge and Tuesday morning I woke up at 4am and could barely breathe 😰Turns out, that sore throat Ive had for the last month was actually an abscess which had grown so large it was closing off my airway. Next thing I know, I was intubated and flown to the ICU in Denver. Wednesday I had surgery and yesterday afternoon I was released from the ICU 🙌🏼 Thank you so much to all the amazing staff at St.Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO & Summit Health in Frisco for taking such great care of me 🙏🏼🙏🏼 A great reminder to LISTEN to your body when it’s telling you something 😳😅 #justhappytobehere Also, even through heavy sedatives it’s good to see I was still in the right frame of mind… (pic 4)😂 #speedosforlife

I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of some incredible projects in the past 🙏🏼 I didn’t think I would find (or want to find 😆) a bigger mountain to climb…. even designing and building my own house in Florida. Nothing seems to compare to the overwhelming feeling of pride and emotion of completing @theotisbuilding . It may have been the thousands of steps, up and down the stairs over the last 3 years, or maybe finally seeing the skyline view (from the peak) that makes this projects completion feel like Everest. One thing is for sure, this project is “TOP of Line” 🙌🏼 All the design finishes were purposely chosen to reflect the historic past and it’s current reimagined present. The mountain analogy is painfully real 😂 After catching our breath from so many trips up and down, the journey conditioned us to never give up… even when it felt like it was just too big of a summit to reach, when oxygen and patience were running low… we relied on our team. Everyone held the line, and we kept moving upward! I know this sounds a bit cliché but honestly, it’s the biggest mountain I’ve ever climbed. An 8 unit residential loft building with 2 roof top mezzanine penthouses as well as 2 retail spaces- in one of the coolest, most creative neighborhoods in Atlanta. Yes… I could’ve (should’ve) made a TV show about this journey (and trust me it would’ve been GOOD ha) but sometimes, just embracing the true reality of the experience is more enlightening. But this feeling of pride would not have been possible without the help of so many people- who I’ve tagged and those that don’t have Instagram, don’t worry I’ll text them 😉 This project pushed me to deliver better than even I thought I could because it’s designed for someone who expects the best in luxury loft living , and I feel so proud so say (while slightly out of breath ) that we did it. Nothing seems to compare to the overwhelming feeling of pride and emotion of completing @theotisbuilding . It may have been the thousands of steps, up and down the stairs over the last 3 years, or maybe finally seeing the skyline view (from the peak) that makes this projects completion feel like Everest. One thing is for sure, this project is “TOP of Line” 🙌🏼 All the design finishes were purposely chosen to reflect the historic past and it’s current reimagined present. The mountain analogy is painfully real 😂 After catching our breath from so many trips up and down, the journey conditioned us to never give up… even when it felt like it was just too big of a summit to reach, when oxygen and patience were running low… we relied on our team. Everyone held the line, and we kept moving upward! I know this sounds a bit cliché but honestly, it’s the biggest mountain I’ve ever climbed. An 8 unit residential loft building with 2 roof top mezzanine penthouses as well as 2 retail spaces- in one of the coolest, most creative neighborhoods in Atlanta. Yes… I could’ve (should’ve) made a TV show about this journey (and trust me it would’ve been GOOD ha) but sometimes, just embracing the true reality of the experience is more enlightening. One thing is for sure, this project is “TOP of Line” 🙌🏼 All the design finishes were purposely chosen to reflect the historic past and it’s current reimagined present. The mountain analogy is painfully real 😂 After catching our breath from so many trips up and down, the journey conditioned us to never give up… even when it felt like it was just too big of a summit to reach, when oxygen and patience were running low… we relied on our team. Everyone held the line, and we kept moving upward! I know this sounds a bit cliché but honestly, it’s the biggest mountain I’ve ever climbed. An 8 unit residential loft building with 2 roof top mezzanine penthouses as well as 2 retail spaces- in one of the coolest, most creative neighborhoods in Atlanta. Yes… I could’ve (should’ve) made a TV show about this journey (and trust me it would’ve been GOOD ha) but sometimes, just embracing the true reality of the experience is more enlightening. But this feeling of pride would not have been possible without the help of so many people- who I’ve tagged and those that don’t have Instagram, don’t worry I’ll text them 😉 This project pushed me to deliver better than even I thought I could because it’s designed for someone who expects the best in luxury loft living , and I feel so proud so say (while slightly out of breath ) that we did it. We delivered. I made it.… to the top.
