11 years later, we’re so proud & nostalgic as we present the trailer of our film to you all that was a first for so many of us! 🥹♥️ Wo Bhi Din The, famously called “Banana” drops on @zee5 on March 29th! @filmsrisingsun @kinoworksllp @ronnie.lahiri @joibarua @wrkprint @imtiazaliofficial @zeemusiccompany @manikems
I was 5 when I started learning Hindustani classical. I could barely read notes and if I’m honest I don’t think I enjoyed it but I stuck with it cause I loved the attention and the medals. I hated the theory exams though. Always copied and passed. Before I moved to Mumbai, I was a finalist on Jharkhand idol. I remember the moment I finished my song and saw my parents and the crowd clapping enthusiastically, it felt like a dream. 2007, I moved to Mumbai with my fam and auditioned for lil champs on Zee tv. I was alright but didn’t make it past the zonals. @padmawadkarmusic encouraged me immensely while training at Ajivasan and I got to sing for two films- Black and White and chal Chalein. But I lost interest in pursing classical music. I struggled with identifying with any kind of music honestly. I sang for bands in college- Steepsky and Oak Island and it was somewhere in the middle when I heard @karnivool_official and began enjoying music again. I wrote a couple of songs for Oak Island and realised the joy of creating music from scratch. Many years later I have the opportunity to write music again with one of my favourite musicians @oaffmusic and I’m so excited to release it this week! It’s a mixture of all our influences and we hope you’ll like it❤️ My journey with music has been tumultuous but most rewarding and I hope that I can keep creating music

It’s the weekend and I’m wearing a banana hat and enjoying a Quattro formaggi pizza in a tiny lane in Phaya Thai. Life is 👍🏻 ☀️

In 2013, a few actors from Mumbai and Delhi were chosen to travel to Jamshedpur to join the rest of the cast to make our first feature film. I could hardly believe that I was cast in a film that was about a bunch of students from Loyola school( my alma matter)and play a crucial part in it. Banana as the film was known to us for the longest time, changed my life in many ways. It was a film of many firsts. It was the first time I played a major character in a film and fell in love with the craft of acting and decided I would pursue it with all my heart. All the actors stayed in a bungalow together and I have the fondest memories shooting all over the city where I’d spent my childhood. Besides being the debut film for most of the cast, it was Sajid Ali’s first film as a director. It was also @wrkprint first film as a cinematographer and almost for everybody else who worked on it. Banjare is my favourite from the album and Im so grateful to @joibarua and Sajid sir for giving me the chance the sing in it. It’s taken way longer that it should have- but Woh Bhi Din The is finally releasing on Zee5 on the 22nd of March after 11 years! The only poetic justice that I can find in all of this is that I found the most incredible people through the film and get to call them my family. I hope that a lot of people watch this film and send us their love #wohbhidinthe
