THE BELLADONNA – M.H.C. 016 – This is probably my favorite spec of the Belladonna. So fun to see it exposed and in all black. Never gets old. Pulling on lots of nostalgic muscle cars from my youth on this one. – Also fun to share some of the behind the scenes on The Belladonna. These projecrts often take months to manifest for various reasons and in these months there are many transformations that take shape. – FULL CGI Created in @maxonvfx and rendered with/ @coronarender

– Orion – With the impending onslaught of AI digital art saturating our lives I still get tremendous joy out of the act of creation and the art of making an image the old/hard way. I don’t think I will ever stop… perhaps this is an illness or an addiction but to me its the path I know best. This frame came to me as an abstraction of thought as I was building out the ending to Orion. This is the third act… we are seeing the shadowborn (characters in the paintings) rising from the flames to meet faite. – I have also included some BTS of the Shadowborn as it was so much fun to create and build these creatures!

DEMAGLITCH – Having some fun with some photos I took recently. One thing that oddly escapes me is taking my photos and doing more visual explorations. Perhaps I just feel the photo is enough for most things but for this event I wanted to play around and explore some visual styles. Lots of fun seeing how things glitch and expand and becomesomething totally different. At the very start of my career I created a series of concpets for a Call of Duty project. It feels like… years later I am coming back to playing in that same sand box but with a different set of tools and approach. This journey is truly never ending.

EX TENEBRIS – 2020 – Ex Tenebris is a collection of illustrations that have been on my mind for some time now. I grew up reading books of fantasy and creatures and playing D&D. This is an homage to my youth. It’s so fun to take time from these quick explorations and come back with fresh eyes and see all that you cna do and adjust now with new skills and new eyes. Perhaps I will come back to this one some day. Big thank you to Dmitry for collaboriting on this one with me. His work is amazing and he truly elevated the concept. – Illustrator CGI Character Design – Ash Thorp Character Design Model – @parkin_dmitry

THE TRIAD – M.H.C. 022 – At the very incept of the Triad design I could see this livery living on its unconventional body lines. This is an homage to a project I worked on with Errolson Hugh and his company Acronym along with Nike in 2018 called Vapormax. I can see Errolson stepping out of the Triad adorned in his amazing fashion asthetics. This is the vision and this is the goal. For now this lives as a concept but that wont always be the case… – The future belongs to those who manifest.
THE DREAM – M.H.C. 020 – Never ending creative bliss making these visual explorations of The Dream GT40.
I have been doing a deeper dive into art history. Studying the “greats” and the forgotten. Learning and reflecting and doing my own journey of discovery. One of the themes that keep raising for me is understanding how ones style evolves and shifts based on interests, intent, curiosity and placement in time. I see art as a never ending discussion with ones self and then exposed to the outside world. This discussion can take on any type of form. For me this weeks discussion is reviewing work from the past and seeing it in a new perspective. A reworking of perspective.

– ORION – While manifesting the world of Orion I always had the feeling of cinema at the front of my mind. I wanted to attempt to capture the look and feel of the films I grew up with and are currently inspired by. Cinema is a special gift to humanity and when executed well can leave a lasting impression. Its obviously had a lasting impact on my over there years and I did my best to capture that raw feeling in this piece for Orion. Capturing a moment within a moment within a moment. –
