Just wrapped up a segment on @abcgma3 where I give marriage advice to a beautiful couple that’s about to get married.
Now some (not the the majority) of folks feel like I have no business speaking on marriage since my marriage didn’t work the way it was intended.
However, when things don’t work out it can actually qualify us even more to speak on what does work.
Thomas Edison tried 2000 different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb.
His assistant got upset because of all their failures and said
“All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing.”
However, Edison saw it differently, he said
“Oh, we have come a long way and have learned a lot. We now know there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good lightbulb.”
We all have gone through challenges and “failures” and I’ve learned that our greatest “failures” can be our greatest teachers.
And learning what doesn’t work is as valuable as learning what does.
Remember that ALL things work together for your good!
If you have multiple talents and gifts – do you have to choose?
Because I wear so many hats (producer, author, preacher, actor, tv personality, etc.), this is a question I get a lot.
So here’s my answer: you don’t have to choose but you should look at prioritizing.
Think of a tree.
All of the branches are attached to the trunk.
Before you attempt to do multiple things at once (branches) – work on establishing the trunk of your career.
Once you discover what your trunk is, and establish the trunk of your career then you branch out.
Take this time to discover the things you are passionate about and follow your curiosity, excitement and calling!
Oh and get on the GOD PATH!!! If you get on the path God has for you, you will experience success like never before.
