THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE VOTE.
John: We are going to have an International Peace Vote. We’re asking everyone to vote for either Peace or War and to send in a coupon with their name and address. This is going to be done worldwide, through music papers initially and, when we’ve got about twenty million votes, we’re going to give them to the United States. It’s just another positive step.

The Wrestling Dog
Once upon a tom in a far off distant land far across the sea miles away from anyway over the hills as the crow barks 39 people lived miles away from anywhere on a little island on a distant land.
When harvest time came along all the people celebrated with a mighty feast and dancing and that. It was Perry’s (for Perry was the Loud Mayor) job to provide (and Perry’s great pleasure I might add) a new and exciting (and it usually was) thrill and spectacular performer (sometimes a dwarf was used), this year Perry had surpassed himselve by getting a Wrestling Dog! But who would fight this wonderous beast? I wouldn’t for a kick off.

THE LUCK OF THE IRISH. 🍀
John: Liverpool is where the Irish came when they ran out of potatoes, and it’s where black people were left or worked as slaves. It was a very poor city, and tough. The people have a sense of humour because they are in so much pain, so they are always cracking jokes. They are very witty. And we talk through our noses. I suppose it’s adenoids. I’m a quarter-Irish and long, long before the trouble started, I told Yoko that’s where we’re going to retire, and I took her to Ireland. We went around Ireland a bit and we stayed in Ireland and we had a sort-of second honeymoon there. So I was completely involved in Ireland.
Yoko: That was not artsy-craftsy music. It was music alongside the idea of ‘The Message is the Music’. We went back to the original concept of a folk song. Like a newspaper, the function was to present the message accurately and quickly. And in that sense, it was funky music, just as a newspaper layout could be called funky. Also it is supposed to stimulate people among the audience and to make them think, ‘Oh, it’s so simple, even I could do it.’ It should not alienate the audience with its professionalism but communicate to the audience the fact that they, the audience, can be just as creative as the performers on the stage, and encourage them to make their own music with the performers rather than to just sit back and applaud.
