More on the story below but real quick if you’d like to help support Shir Zad and his family – AMAZON WISHLIST LINK IN BIO – You can Venmo Shir Zad @shirzad_sarbaz or PayPal @shirzadsarbaz. Email him at [email protected] if you would like to discuss any donations. They are in Manassas VA not far from DC. If giving a donation through Zelle or mailing a check is best please email Shir Zad first and request that information. If sending any eGift Cards please send to this email. GOFUNDME LINK IN BIO 8 members of the family are adults and looking for work. Their previous work experience includes: military, electrician, pharmacy, OBGYN, carpentry, receptionist, air conditioner/satellite dish fixing, teacher. Several of them speak good English and the rest are working on it around the clock and fast improving! We became close with Shir Zad and his wife Zarlasht almost 3 years ago after meeting over refugee advocacy. Shir Zad hopes to one day be a diplomat working for the state department while Zarlasht is studying accounting. They recently welcomed their first child Ayaz into the world. We fell in love with their spirit, kindness, humor and curiosity. We also grew close to their family from afar as they struggled to maintain their safety and hope under the Taliban. Over the last two years we, along with several friends, helped Shir Zad bring his family to safety in the US. A tremendous thank you to all 848 people who donated to the go fund over a year ago! It took a long time and every cent of that money was used to get each member passports (very expensive there), to keep everyone fed while they were not allowed to work, to pay for forms and all manner of endless costs connected to getting a large family out through a corrupt and violent government. During that time Shir Zad’s mother (an incredible OBGYN) was attacked and injured by Taliban for leaving the house without a male escort and his brother attacked for having too short a beard. His other brother has been struggling to heal from a leg injury also from the Taliban. Thanks for considering joining us in supporting our new neighbors and friends.

Repost from @rescueorg • Every year, the IRC releases a list of the 20 humanitarian crises expected to deteriorate the most over the next year. This year, Palestine was second only after Sudan. Devastating violence is causing a humanitarian emergency that will persist long after the fighting eventually stops. To learn more about the Emergency Watchlist, visit Rescue.org/Watchlist2024

From @orchardofabraham “In difficult times, when chaos and killing is our daily life, and pain is beyond description, the desire for revenge is raised all around us, we choose to open and develop a healing space for mind and spirit in the Holyland. A space and action where “revenge” will be to heal, strengthen, love, connect, grieve, and create hope thanks to simple acts of wisdom and love. The Orchard of Abraham’s Children, an organization born out of an exceptional love story between a Muslim man and a Jewish woman, is at the forefront of efforts to promote peace and tolerance in this region. Today, we urgently introduce the HUMAN FIRST Healing Space. Support the healing space ; https://www.orchardofabrahamschildren.org/copy-of-15 Read more on our Website: https://www.bismilla.org/“ You can find these sites at the link in our bio as well. Thanks for considering joining us in supporting this powerful deeply needed organization.
