Man. As a kid watching terrestrial tv—-we knew when he made an appearance on Tonight Show/Letterman it was a special moment. This reminds me of my aunt (he was a fav of hers)——and of course the many Curb moments.

Couple Of Things:
1. I LOVE when we transform @TheBeatles way past recognition 🤣🤣🤣😂
2. @ChakaKhan is a genius & her catalog needs exploring (sign of a true artist is how much their filler BANGS: not the hits everyone else knows 🥱
3. As a member of @RRHOF it’s killing me that we have this system that honors the point guard but not the entire team: I seen this w @LionelRichie @NileRodgers Chaka & a few others (The Famous Flames/The Miracles/The E Street Band/leaving Randy out of the Jackson 5 when he has been playing in the band since 1972—-3 years after his bros started, ijs)
We gotta figure out a system that doesn’t make band members disposable especially with a cannon that deep.
3. As a cat who has spent the last 5 -6 years watching THOUSANDS of hours of concert footage of 70s era monsters I will secretly say that maybe perhaps 65% of these bands sound “just aight” compared to what they put down in a contained sweetened studio.
Seriously you are hard pressed to find a band unit that is better live than they are in the studio.
I never knew Rufus was THIS tight—-the #StompinAtTheSavoy lp is the only example I got of their magic (lp came out when I was 12 & most of their appearances was lyp sync——-I mean I kinda remember this ep when I was 4 but I wasn’t “paying attention ATTENTIVELY” (™️ Tip)——-anywho hats off to @tonymaiden1 & bobbywatson & Kevin Murphy & Andre Fischer for displaying jaw dropping mastery of their instruments with their pre “Sweet Thing”/“Aint Nobody” days.

So devastated to hear the news of Sean Lalla’s passing (@elsewheresonido) THE reason Canada got a taste of that real hip hop. He was the ambassador. Throwing the dopest parties. Back when touring was my DNA you always knew you’d do his parties like 4-6 times a year.
I mean ANY Canadian institution he was the connect.
The way he talked me into doing @nardwuar before it was the coolest honor to have. Or the time he drove us to that ice cream joint to try cheddar cheese ice cream. Or the insane amount of record shopping I’d do FEDExIng boxes back home.
Just so sad to hear of his passing. Even when NOT on tour he would check up on you and we’d debate “real hip hop”
Man this is not the way I wanted to start my day hearing this news. God bless his family and loved ones and the community of music heads that loved him so for making their weekends so much doper.

One Time for Chef Max Hardy from Detroit —-a gentleman who caught the nation’s attention when during the pandemic he led the mission with fellow area chefs forming the Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen For Good project feeding those in need during the dark period. We frequented his establishments when touring in the D. Condolences & strength & positive energy to his community & loved ones in this time of need.
The Gods were smiling on us when in a kinda unexpected move we randomly found out Brother Frankie just happened to be in town and we put it out there that we’d like him to come and visit @qls.
Not even with an agenda like our regular eps. We just wanted to give him his flowers. I say he is the pioneer of #YachtSoul the smoothest soul there was. So smooth and timeless his music will never go away.
I still maintain #Befo——wait wait lemme get the context right: I say #SmellsLikeTeenSpirit is the white #BeforeILetGo ———a song that will be here bringing the best outta us no matter what the situation. I mean I’ve been to the saddest funerals and then someone blasted this outside and boom! A celebration. Like #Colt45 it works everytime. We give #FrankieBeverly his flowers today on #QuestloveSupreme (@frankiebeverlyandmaze)
