Good book of the day:
“Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter” by Liz Wiseman
There’s 2 types of leaders:
Multipliers and Diminishers
Multipliers are leaders who inspire, challenge, and utilize the talents of their team members to the fullest, thereby increasing the collective intelligence and capacity of the organization.
They ask the right questions, delegate authority, and foster an environment of innovation and accountability.
Diminishers are those leaders who, often unknowingly, suppress the talents and capabilities of their teams.
They might micromanage, dominate discussions, and make decisions without consulting those around them, leading to a decrease in the team’s overall effectiveness and morale.
By adopting the traits of Multipliers, leaders can double the output of their teams without needing to increase the number of people or resources.
This book gives you strategies and behaviors that can help any leader transition from being a Diminisher to becoming a Multiplier, including how to empower others, extract and extend people’s unique capabilities, and cultivate an atmosphere of challenge and opportunity.
