Diverted a sister ski trip with @flywithbritt96 and kept it local which meant the whole family was suddenly invited.
Teaching your kid ANYTHING requires oodles of patience. Teaching your kid to ski requires enough patience to fill Big Bear lake.
Lots of tears and plenty of frustration early on but when we listened to our child and took off the ski clip a friendly, well- meaning staff member hooked on her skis, she fared much better and had a really enjoyable day.
We gave Ember some tips, and told her the basics but mainly she taught herself to ski. Parents, give them the tools, make adjustments, then get out of their way.

Ps…kids 4 and under get free rentals at Big Bear Mountain .
Perfect low pressure opportunity to try the sport before you commit.
Grateful for the wonderful bday girl @gina_field for allowing us to stay at her cozy mountain hideaway.
10/10 would recommend.
