Annabel Crabb Instagram – Back home in #radelaide for @adlfringe with a new love show about food and politics, The Grilling Season. Tonight’s audience included some absolutely top-shelf SA women, pioneers both here and internationally… Her Excellency the @governorsouthaustralia Frances Adamson and Mr Rod Bunten, and @natashastottdespoja who – having left the Senate some time ago – continues to serve Australia with distinction at the UN. Both have incredible Mums too – the Hon Jennifer Cashmore (pictured) in the case of the Governor, and Shirley Stott Despoja who is legendary for much more than the fact that she begat NSD. All made their own way through ambition and talent … so nice to catch em for two seconds post show. Swipe for my own progeny who has been mercilessly lampooning me in a nightly on-stage intro which I was assured would be some fun remarks about politics but has evolved into quite a detailed critique of my parenting weaknesses which is guess is the downside of raising independent minded girl children 🤓 Last Feb show is tonight 6.30 @gluttony_fringe
Annabel Crabb Instagram – Ran into @adlfringe director @heathercrl at Govt House as @governorsouthaustralia Frances Adamson welcomed squads of international and domestic arts investors to SA for the Fringe’s Honeypot marketplace. One thing that constantly amazes me is the outrageous calibre of artistic directors this state attracts despite being nowhere near the biggest economy in Australia. Fringe, Festival, Writers Week, Cabaret Festival … honestly it’s a powerhouse. Feb / March in Adelaide is truly a delight… there’s something very witchy and intuitive about the people who can build these things and make it look easy. It’s economy but also alchemy.* Anyway, place of my birth: Well played. I hope y’all know what treasures you possess! I’m coming back for more at @gluttony_fringe with The Grilling Season on March 16/17.
