The Dry Robe we bought for dad after chucking everything he stood up in in a bin-liner saved the day.

So, another little tip on how I use it.
Years ago I worked with a lovely Makeup Artist called Roxanne @roxannenew
The first thing she always did, when I sat in her chair ready to be transformed, was brush a balm over my lips.
She did it for 2 reasons:
1) To nourish my dry lips so that they were prepared after painting the rest of my face to take her application of lipstick.
2) So that she could easily clean off the foundation powder residue.
WHY?
Because you never want to apply lipstick or even a gloss over foundation, powder or what o use a foundation /powder.
We’ve all looked in horror at that nasty tide line of foundation and lipstick which appears normally at the edges of our mouth, so avoid it happening in the first place.
If you are not going to apply makeup no need to dab your lips with a tissue, keep BALM 6 on as a lip balm.
I keep BALM 6 on my lips all the time especially when in the house and now, no cracking at all, just hydrated lips. 💋

After the beach dried off with a great pub lunch in The Wreakers Bar at The Hartland Quay Hotel.

So good to be together now looking forward to our next adventure.

The holy trinity of bags from @sarahharanuk I’m completely kitted out, perfect for when you’re on the go! I use these three bags pretty much everyday either as single bags or as the trio when I’ve got meetings, need to pick up shopping and gernally just got a lot going on.
I love the black bags as you know they are just going to go with everything and are completely timeless. They may even be my favourite!

They refurbish unwanted computer equipment and redistribute, for free, to neglected corners of society.
Lucky recipients include schools, charities, community groups, and families or individuals in digital poverty, across Stafford, Stoke, and beyond.
Since forming in January 2021 they’ve refurbished and re-homed over 1000 unwanted and broken devices.
Each one is life changing.

One of the questions I’m often asked by you is, “What foundation do you use?”
I’ve not really given a straight answer because after the company I used for years changed their formula I’ve been trying many other brands.
For me, when it comes to makeup foundation is the key, then everything else falls into place, together with a nourished skin its your canvas.
For over 20 years I’ve been a big fan of a mineral powder makeup. The brush and go method, is so much part of my life I literally can’t use a liquid on myself.
6 months I landed on Cosmetics à la Cart @cosmeticsalacarte and on Saturday rushing in because my pallets were low and I was going away I met one of the heroines of modern day makeup, Lynne Sanders who in 1973 co-founded Cosmetics à La Carte.
It was a total coincidence but there she was behind the till with her daughter Isabella helping customers find their exact skin tone matches.
Lynne is her very own ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ novel. As a trained Chemist she broke the mould and to this day can still be found in her laboratory creating the makeup formula’s we buy.
This time I proudly emerged with a bag of hers and Isabella’s suggestions which are perfect for my skin tone and easy to apply. It was like having Mary Quant run up one of her dresses for you!
Keep a look out on my Instagram as I can feel a live coming on so I can share with you her love of makeup and in particular foundation.
So many people you would know have passed through Lynne’s doors the most notable being Diana, Princes of Wales. Although she clearly wore makeup she never looked ‘over done’ her foundation with concealer, highlighter and blusher allowed her natural glow to shine through and if she was alive today even in her 60’s I know she would still have that wonderful look probably enhanced by Lynne.
One great plus in my obsession with mineral powder makeup, I can put it on in low light, in the back of a car, on a train, plane or in the middle of a field its a cinch!!

💬 A lovely chat today with the always bubbly @antheaturner and her co-author and broadcaster sister, @wendy_turner_webster (who I have to say, what an absolute professional for turning up to the ‘live’ in pain from cracking a rib today!).
🐭 We chatted about their Underneath the Underground children’s book series (although in reality there’s something in there for any age – think panto giggles), that takes the reader into mouse world living in Tube stations around London, hatching plans to take back the famous Kohinoor diamond from the Tower of London.
👑🇬🇧Their adventures begin two weeks before the coronation of King Charles III. Beautifully illustrated throughout with gorgeous characterisation of the King and Queen, capturing their warmth, support of each other and Goon-like sense of humour.
