Charlene White Instagram – Mum (the first pic is my mum, not me!)… thanks for sending me the many women who stepped in to help me once you were gone. They’ve helped carry me through the myriad of stages of adulthood and motherhood.
To my dad, who overnight has to become mum *and* dad, love you to the moon and back.
To the many women, from family to friends, whose kindness I will remember and cherish forever, thank-you for keeping me safe and protected as I navigate the world without a mum.
I hope you mothers have had a wonderful day in recognition of housing a human, birthing a human, and raising a human.
But we must remember those mothers who’ve been thrown into situations they have no control over, where all they want is to keep their children safe in the face of fear, violence, death and destruction.
