“We need to remind ourselves that we can still turn this around. It’s entirely possible if we are prepared to change. Hope is all around us.”
I wrote a text about what it will take for the #COP26 to be successful, link in bio.

Today people all over the world again took it to the streets, striking to #UprootTheSystem and protesting for a secure present and future. But we have only just begun! Thank you to everyone who participated and a special thank you to all the local organisers who have worked tirelessly to make this possible!

Week 289. #FridaysForFuture #ClimateStrike #ClimateJusticeNow Parliament House, Stockholm
Right now young people are blocking the Swedish parliament to draw attention to the fact that the climate crisis and underlying social injustices are killing people all over the world, and the situation is only getting worse.
We have had enough of those in power not listening to the science and our voices. Instead of ensuring an immediate and just transition, they actively choose to continue exacerbating the climate crisis and silencing activists, scientists and the most affected. A group of scientists with different research fields is also on site to show their support and highlight that our demands are in line with science.
This action is a resistance to the continuation of this deadly, unjust system. The richest consume enormous amounts of resources, at the expense of large parts of the world’s population not even having their basic needs met.
The world is inevitably changing fast. It is our democratic duty to be actively involved in shaping the direction that change should take. We invite everyone who can to join us.
We have an obligation as democratic citizens to act when people are at risk of being in danger and losing their lives as a result of the actions of our politicians. The climate justice movement has for decades, using many different methods, tried to draw attention to these problems, but we are still heading in the wrong direction and emissions are increasing. Therefore, we feel that we have no other choice but to try new methods to get our message across and be heard. Our elected officials are in major positions of power in Sweden, and choose to actively maintain and worsen our current extremely violent and destructive system. By sitting here we are disrupting this system as well as taking our responsibility to treat this crisis as the urgent crisis it is.
South of France. While the French gouvernement intends to build a huge private highway (the A69) on fertile lands, wet zones and forests instead of improving the existing public roads, railways and bus, French activists from @lavoieestlibre and @gnsa_officiel organise to climb into the trees. They pacifically occupy the land in order to avoid the cutting – what’s more illegal at this time of year according to the protected species living there.
Facing extreme violence from the police, as continuous tear gaz jet, siege to hinder their access to food and sleep privation, the locals made a complaint at UN. The special rapporteur on environmental defenders @forst.michel came yesterday on-site, but the situation is still tense.
Activists should not face such persecutions while simply preventing illegal destruction and fighting for a liveable future for all. We need environmental democracy, not criminalisation of environmental defenders.
