When I look at these images, I am reminded of how powerful I felt when I was giving life to Deia inside me. It was the first time in my life that I fully embraced my body and the DIVINE POWER inside me.
As I felt the life growing inside me, I vividly remember holding my belly as it dawned on me what great privilege and power I have been given to carry a child.
May every woman be able to tap into their power, in whatever way, shape or form. It may be by revolutionizing change in their own communities. Being a career woman or homemaker, being a creative or having a corporate job. Whether it is by nurturing yourself, a child, pets, plants or other people we have chosen as our family. You are giving life to another, yes, even art — and that is power.
As we usher in International Women’s Day, may every woman feel worthy to take up space and be seen and heard. May every one of us feel more than enough.
Celebrating and honoring my body for all that it has done for me and continue to do for me. I AM GRATEFUL. I AM A WOMAN. I AM POWERFUL!

Like everyone else, I am still in shock as I begin to write this tribute for you.
I still remember the first time I saw you in 2002 or 2003 in GMA. There was a shoot with all of the artists and you were standing in line like everyone else. I looked at you and immediately wanted to hug you because you reminded me of my mom who I just lost in 2001. Tisay and a bit short but had an intensity and mystery about you that just gave off a “Wag mo akong subukan.” Kind of energy.
As luck would have it, you ended up playing my mother in Te Amo, Maging Sino Ka Man. I had the opportunity to work with you a few more times, Eternity was one of them, and the last long one was my first series in ABSCBN, Kahit Puso’y Masugatan.
You treated me like a daughter and I looked up to you as a mentor and mother. Jane Guck or Nanay Jane I would fondly call you. Our shared love for tequila and rockstars made us click. You were both generous and kind with your words of encouragement and support be it on or off cam. You were also very stern when you needed to be. That’s one of the best things about you — napakatotoo mo.
I last saw you, briefly, at a party for actors where we came together to further understand the Eddie Garcia Bill. You passionately asked questions and, with no pretenses, expressed your personal opinion and concerns on a lot of things. I had no idea that would be the last time I would see you.
Kung alam ko lang, I would have hugged you more that night, yung yakap na sobrang higpit para alam mo na mahal na mahal kita. I truly love, respect and appreciate you, Jane Guck.
It has been an honor and great pleasure to know you and cross paths with you in this lifetime. Pahinga ka na. Until the next one. 🙏🏽
P.S. Taos pusong pakikiramay sa iyong mga mahal sa buhay lalo na sayo baby girl @andieigengirl 🙏🏽❤️

The best things in life are free. Salamat, Miss Jackson!
Everyday, we watch Deia learn and grow but it’s always a wonder to see her engage in her play school classes. @teacher_beeee curates Deia’s classes to tailor fit her progress and early this February, we worked with her to learn “Stop and Go”. 😊
It’s so exciting to see how much Deia is capable of learning, we’re already looking forward to the next session!
Our Hong Kong trip in 30 seconds! A short but fun and meaningful trip over the weekend to be with friends and our Kababayans! 🇵🇭 It was great meeting and dancing with you all! 💃🏻✨
Faces and Flora. 💐
These Masterpieces of art by @janvmayo were created with UP Diliman Institute of Biology and the Philippine Taxonomic Initiative to bring to light our country’s native and endemic flora.
“Melochia umbellata, commonly known as labayo, is a native tree found in the Philippines. The epithet of its scientific name comes from the Latin word “umbellatus” which means umbel-like. However, unlike what its name suggests, the labayo has corymb inflorescence or flat-topped flower arrangement.”
“Crateva religiosa, commonly known as salingbobog, belongs to the Caper family. Salingbobog is a naturally occurring tree in the Philippines. It inhabits inundated forests and is usually found in low-elevated areas and rarely seen in places with medium elevations. During its flowering season in summer, the salingbobog shows various colors as it blooms.”
If you’d like to visit the exhibition, it is located at the Upper Courtyard of the National Museum of Natural History! Open Tuesdays to Sundays, 9 AM to 5 PM. Free admission, too! 🤗

Going through the videos and photos of our recent She Talks Asia Summit, Breaking Stereotypes, and I’m still in awe of how magical the day was for all of us.
The room was filled with women from all walks of life, where stories and lessons were shared to help empower each and every one of those in attendance, myself included. Grateful to everyone who signed up and really stayed until the end.
We couldn’t have done any of this without the help and support of our speakers, our growing STA Tribe, the project leads, production team — everyone involved. We are so grateful for the hard work and effort you all put in to make this day happen with such power behind it.
I’ll carry this feeling until the next one. See you all at next year’s summit. 🤗
P.S. To my amazing co-founders, thank you for believing in me and inspiring me to be better. ILYSM. 🥹

At 41, what matters to #IzaCalzado in this stage of her life and career is creating impact, especially if it leads to a lasting impact on the next generation. And that means ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table.
“It’s really by celebrating what’s good about the world, what’s good about that other person, what’s good about what’s happening around us and really championing kindness. The only way for you to be able to use your influence for good is to use it for something other than your own benefit—if it’s something that you do for others,” she shares.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we recognize eight women who empower Filipinas to be the best versions of themselves through their respective advocacies. Meet the #CosmoWomenOfInfluence2024 via the link in our bio. 💖
