Many of us in the USA who celebrate MLK Day as a day off work or out of school, etc, don’t pause to pre-plan and think of it as what it is: the only federal holiday designated by Congress to be a national day of service. What a great day it is, however, to gather with those we love, know, or work with in various ways to give a positive contribution to people and communities in need. This was the spirit of Dr. King’s life and perhaps, another part of his legacy that the federal day that bears his name is one intended to think and work for the betterment of others and our humanity, being one that is – by design – intended to take our minds off ourselves and to work for those in our world. It’s a holiday that does not require gifting something wrapped so much as unwrapping our hearts and deeds. Thank you, Dr. King!

It is your attitude, not your aptitude, that will shape your success. What does this mean for us? It means having the tenacity to keep pushing when things get tough, the optimism to see opportunities where others see obstacles, and the resilience to get back up after a setback. ☀️
Truth and honesty are two sides of the same coin, but there’s a profound distinction. Truth can sometimes be wielded like a weapon, harming as much as informing. However, honesty offers a softer approach. Honesty is whole – it’s a balance of truth, integrity and empathy. It offers compassion and clarity. Remember: communication is not just about conveying facts; it’s about building connections and nurturing relationships. ❤️
