Kausar Mohammed Instagram – We met 14 years ago through our love for arts activism and through a desire to do more for our community, to dream more. We held our Meetha-Muh (traditional Pakistani Muslim engagement ceremony) and civil ceremony this past November in a time where a need to hold on to hope and liberation (and a #freepalestine) were more important than ever.
And so, we want to share our journey over those couple days as a little bit of light and hope back, brown folks living, muslim folks thriving, queer folks loving. This is a sneak peak of the night of our Meetha-Muh, which is translated as, “sweetening of the mouth”. We didn’t do much in terms of engagement celebration initially, but we knew before we got married we wanted our families to meet each other in an intimate way, so will be sharing more on that… but for now, here is us…
