Rose and geranium are the essential oils I use to keep fleas and ticks away from my dogs. The oils I use are nothing fancy. I just pick up generic ones from the health food store.
It’s one of the wonders of nature that the scents of rose and geranium are so hated by fleas and ticks, but so wonderful to humans! (I love how my dogs smell after placing this on them!) Besides placing drops of essential oils on my dogs, I also like to add garlic to their food during high tick seasons (fall and spring) to give them internal protection too. Try this out on your dogs for flea and tick protection especially if you live in a wooded area or go on lots of hikes.
Even in the winter, you still want fresh herbs and so do I! What I do is I take little cuttings from my garden before it gets too cold, then I bring them inside and plant them in water. It really couldn’t be easier! Basil, oregano, thyme, and mint are all good options for this planting method! All you need to do is keep refilling the water as these little guys drink it.

When people talk about wanting abs, I think they’re really just saying they want a flat tummy. But! Having a strong core is so much more than that. A strong core optimizes your body for daily tasks, helps prevent injuries, and it improves your quality of life (aka decreases discomfort).
Try these deep core strengthening exercises. Really focus on engaging your abs while you’re doing them for maximum benefit
I used a 20lb kettlebell and a set of 10lb dumbbells. You should find the weight that’s right for you by selecting a weight that is challenging, but that you can control.
Do each exercise for 30 seconds followed by 30 of rest. Complete the circuit 3-4 times for a deep burn.
1. Kettlebell Standing crunch, alternating legs
2. Kettlebell circles/around the world, clockwise first
– counter clockwise,
3. Double dumbbell hold, march alternating legs
4. Single dumbbell hold: right hand-right leg – high knee leg raise
5. Single dumbbell hold: left hand-left leg – high knee leg raise

Get out on a hike with your dogs! 🐾 Prioritizing wild, nature time with your dogs can improve their life (and yours!). It comes down to thinking about what’s natural. How can we give them as much of that wild experience as we can. Never forget that what is good for you is good for them, and vice versa. We are here to contribute positively to each others lives! Always remember that a one sided relationship is NOT fun. Think about them and their needs, and you will have a loyal friend for life. Or 3, like me 😂

I came up with this little concoction because I wanted more antioxidants in the morning without feeling weighed down or sluggish like you would after a big smoothie or bowl. The fresh berries🫐🍓 plus #MorningComplete Mixed Berry by @activatedyou means that this tastes as amazing as it feels. This is easy on the tummy. It’s easy to make. It’s the perfect morning drink!
Ingredients for 1 serving:
Ice (amount of your preference)
1/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup blackberries
1/4 cup raspberries
1 scoop of yogurt
1/3 cup of almond milk
1/2-1 cup of water
1 scoop of Morning Complete Mixed Berry
