Mayim Bialik Instagram – Days 3 & 4 of my meditation experience using @danharris’ 10% Happier app!
Day 3: I had a chanting meditation in my morning yoga class that somehow quieted my mind amidst all of the thoughts I had going on, and with that came a physical sensation of the emergence of “higher self” that some of these meditations talk about. It seemed easier than usual to focus.
Then something shifted with my pre-sleep meditation – it was a different kind of meditation, focusing on body sensations with an emphasis on letting things in instead of pushing them out when they’re unpleasant. I didn’t want it to end and found myself looking forward to the next day of meditation!
Day 4: I noticed some sort of difference in the voices in my head, more emerging clarity. Again, I was able to note things and let them move on. I feel like I’m building on each day’s meditation and I have some interesting understanding of body sensations in a different way.
It finally sunk in today that our brains are so unbelievable and that my mind is constantly generating judgment and fear and future and past and shame and sadness. And I don’t have to attach to every single thing that my mind produces. So I’m definitely experiencing some sort of shift. Now if I could only get my kids to meditate with me…😮💨
