Today is the day! I can’t wait for you all to read my book Dear Black Girls, grab your copy today!

A few of my favorite Valentines 🥰
Can’t wait to celebrate one whole year of Leila this month! 🥳
One of the many things I admire about @oprah is the way she’s inspired generations of women and girls to know their worth, pursue their dreams, and share their unique gifts with the world. Because of her, there are so many people who believe in themselves a little more fiercely—and we’re all better for it.
Happy 70th birthday, Oprah! I’m grateful to call you a friend ❤️
I love the beauty and peacefulness of winter, but the darkness and chilly temperatures can start to get to me this time of year! 🌨️
One thing that always helps my mood is spending time outside. 🌅 How do you like to cure the winter blues?
One of the highlights of my recent trip to L.A. was joining, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend”! You can listen to my conversation with Conan at the link in my bio.
“We have built the world, perhaps inadvertently, but for men.“
On the latest episode of Young Again, Kirsty Young speaks to philanthropist @melindafrenchgates about the advice she would give her younger self.

I owe a big part of my love of computers to my high school math teacher Mrs. Bauer. Right before I started my senior year of high school, she convinced our principal to buy five Apple II computers after seeing them at a math conference. Of course, we didn’t know how to use them yet, but Mrs. Bauer had thought of that already. She told our principal, “If you buy them, I’ll learn how to teach them.”
And she did. Mrs. Bauer spent her own time and money studying computer science at night so she could teach it to us during the day. She was the first advocate for women in tech I ever knew, and every student deserves a teacher like her.
Today, on International Day of Women and Girls in Science, learn how @pivotal_ventures’ partners are opening opportunities for the next generation of women and girls in tech—the same way Mrs. Bauer once did for my classmates and me. Link in my bio.
“Freedom” (n.): to have the power to live the life you want to live.
What does women’s power mean to you?
It’s no secret that the U.S. venture capital industry has a diversity problem. Year after year, only about 2% of venture capital funds go to companies led exclusively by women—and Black women receive only a small fraction of that funding.
My company @pivotal_ventures is working to change that by investing early in funds and companies led by women and people of color. We know that for the VC industry to achieve its potential, a diverse group of people must be able to control, access, and benefit from investment capital. Learn more about our investment approach—which I’ll be talking about at the Upfront Summit in L.A. later this week—at the link in my bio.
💌 Dear Black Girls by @aja22wilson—the third title from Moment of Lift Books—is out today!
A’ja writes so movingly about the people and places that shaped her, making a tender and compelling case that being yourself is the most powerful thing you can offer the world. I love this book, and I can’t stop thinking about the profound ways it will impact everyone who reads it. Learn more about it at the link in my bio.
“You’re not alone. I hear you. I’ve been through it. I understand exactly how you feel in these moments. Just continue to push through and be you.”
That’s the message @aja22wilson wants young readers to take away from her new book, Dear Black Girls. A’ja, your story is incredible, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it! #books

Caring for others makes us human❤️
On #nationalcaregiversday, I’m thinking about the need to build a better caregiving system that enables everyone to care for themselves and their loved ones on their own terms. Supporting caregivers will help us reach our full potential as a country.
@pivotal_ventures’ partner @caringacrossgen is building a nationwide movement to transform the way we care.
A’ja Wilson wants you to know: Even champions deal with imposter syndrome sometimes. In her new book, Dear Black Girls, A’ja writes so powerfully about the pressure Black women face to “be everything to everyone”—something she’s had to navigate numerous times herself. That’s why she’s passionate about reminding her readers, “You are enough…you are more than enough.”
A’ja, thank you for using your platform to elevate this topic. I love thinking about the impact your words will have on readers 💌
Anyone who’s ever navigated grief or mental health challenges knows how hard it can be to show up on your darkest days. But WNBA star A’ja Wilson wants you to know: You’re not alone, and it’s okay not to be okay.
In her new book, Dear Black Girls, A’ja writes openly about her own experiences with grief and anxiety—topics she wishes people talked about more, especially in the Black community. I had the chance to ask A’ja more about how those experiences helped her find her true purpose, and I love what she shared 💞
Learn more about the book at the link in my bio.
A’ja Wilson is so much fun to talk to, and her new book, Dear Black Girls, is equally as fun to read.
I loved getting to ask her a few “this or that” questions. (It’s always exciting finding out who my fellow introverts are…)
