I was honored to meet @secdebhaaland at a @whitehouse holiday party! I am a big fan of hers!
Secratary Haaland is the first Native American to serve as a Cabinet secretary, and she is one of the first two Native American women elected to the U.S. Congress. Besides serving as the 54th United States Secretary of the Interior she is a citizen of the Laguna Pueblo. Her work to tackle the decades-long crisis of missing and murdered Native Americans, her work on conservation across public lands and her voter registration work have all inspired me and educated me and to meet her was thrilling. She so smart and down to earth. I felt so lucky to meet her!
