And here are the realities. When you come to audition, you consider the most important thing is to get into the character and give your 100%. And only when I became a producer, I realized by what criteria actors are actually chosen. Now I may destroy the hopes of novice actors and people who have no connections in the film industry. But talent is not your trump card at all. Who do you think will be chosen? A good actor that no one knows about, or a good actor with a certain level of social media popularity and a certain number of followers? Yeah, you are right, the second one. Just because the movie industry is a business, and for any producer the financial success of the film is what matters. It doesn’t mean that only influencers with a million audience will be invited to projects. No. But if there is a choice, then it will be made in favor of the person who will bring more people (read: money) to the cinema. Sad but true. That is the reason why the audience on socials for actors is not just fans to amuse their ego. This is a valuable asset that increases their chances of success in the industry.
