বাংলাদেশে প্রতি তিনজনে একজন নারী ঘরে বাইরে নানাভাবে নির্যাতনের শিকার হচ্ছে। প্রতি বছর ক্রমেই নারী নির্যাতনের এই হার বেড়ে চলেছে৷ কিন্তু সেই অনুপাতে সবাই মিলে প্রতিবাদ হচ্ছে না। কারন আমাদের সমাজে নারীদের শেখানো হয় চুপচাপ নিরবে সহ্য করতে। কিন্তু এভাবে আর কতদিন? আমরা চাই এই ট্যাবু ভেঙে আওয়াজ তুলুক প্রতিটি নারী। প্রতিবাদের মাধ্যমে বন্ধ হোক নারীর প্রতি সহিংসতা।
আর তাই, নারী নির্যাতনের প্রতিবাদে ‘Odd Dot Selfie’ নামে আমরা একটি উদ্যোগ নিয়েছি। যেখানে প্রতিবাদের ভাষা হিসেবে বেছে নিয়েছি নারীর সাজের চিরায়ত সঙ্গী কপালের টিপ।

According to Bangladesh Mahila Parishad’s data, in November 2023 alone, around 191 women and girls faced various forms of violence across the country. During this time, 36 women and girls were raped, 45 of them were murdered, 15 women and girls died by suicide, while there were 20 reported mysterious deaths. (Source: The Daily Star)
