It’s 2 am, I am Sitting alone holding my @criticschoiceindia best actress award, my peace heart symbol of #ceasefiregaza and some tears in my eyes looking outside my window. The moment I reached home I removed my beautiful makeup, the lovely designer dress which I wore today at the awards ceremony and decided to wear my mom’s night gown. The bombay lights are still bright, construction sound is loud in the middle of night and I am thinking how I moved to this crazy dream city, where and how my journey started in not just in cinema but journey of humanity too and how far I have come and how I want to keep working for humanity and my craft. I stopped my mind immediately and said hey let’s just reminisce this beautiful today’s moment and the love I received. Because Tomorrow’s work is double and I need to gather all the strength. Thankfully my mind agreed and I smiled. Rajshri Deshpande has received acclaim and awards for her powerful performance as Neelam Krishnamoorthy in Netflix’s Trial By Fire in 2023. The former advertising professional is also a social worker, who, through her non-profit Nabhangan Foundation, takes up causes related to rural rejuvenation and community building. The impact of her foundation’s work now reaches 30 villages in Marathwada, Maharashtra. Not just Actors ( female ) but women above a certain age gets rare work opportunities. Not just in the film industry but in corporates, hospitality, dance performers, sports woman, aviation industry Infact every other industry where women are superior and can take the leadership. Unfortunately There are very rare exceptions or success stories of women and LGBTQia plus community’s we have celebrated if you compare through men stories and that’s exactly we have to work on. We need more n more stories to not just celebrate but help them reach their goals. We need more awareness, education and discussion on ground. We need to normalise and talk about body positivity and challenges every woman faces during mid life’s during pregnancies during mono pause after postpartum more discussions on gender issues. We need to keep showing more real lives and less filtered ones. We need to have solidarity, compassion and standing up for each other not just on social media by posting or on a panel discussion by praising or make socially driven movies to show we care but but in real life too with actions. We need action not just promises. We need well earned place on the table not tokenism. We need equality and equal pays We need respect, money and work. Giveeee us all that we will create wonders. Promise 💃🤍 I know all this needs a revolution but let’s take a step…
