Happy Birthday coach!
Wish the world had more people as kind as you @bachchan 😊
For every little girl her first hero is always her father. I was no different. He loved his college. Xaviers not only looked like Hogwarts but it felt magically listening to my father describe it. So studying at Xaviers was always a dream. 82% was never going to be enough to get me admission there. But sport & my sister came to my rescue. My state level badminton certificates attested, my sister stood in queue & lo behold my name was on the sports quota list at St. Xaviers college. My proud father drove me from Nasik for my investiture ceremony. He couldn’t contain his excitement. The moment I stepped into Xaviers I realised why. My father took me along showing me his class & the terrace, like he was showing me his childhood house. I immediately felt at home.
I didn’t realise how much this college was moulding me into what I am. I spent the 5 best years of my life having fun. Malhar security, playing 9 sports, soaking in the music theatre & in between this studying. I learnt how to dream, to live, to love to fight for what is right, to become a better person. Xavier’s was not a college it was a way of life.
When I passed out,I immediately started modelling & auditioning for films. I realised how the world outside is not Xaviers, its not such a happy place. People are not kind, life is not fair & the struggle is real. But my professors had prepared me well. My friends have been my support system everytime I have been down. So for me making my family, friends & teachers proud always remains my first goal.
A few days ago I was called to college where they felicitated me for Ghoomer. This time around I drove my father from Nasik. My professors met me with their eyes filled with pride. My father took me around again showing me same the class & the same terrace, this time it took longer, I had to share my memories as well. He watched me go up on stage, heard all the kind words of praise & couldn’t contain his excitement, with tears flowing down his cheeks. My first hero was very proud of me. I hope I can continue to make him, my family, friends & teachers feel proud. I have a long long way to go, but this part of my life, this little part, is called HAPPINESS ❤️

It’s no secret how much I love sport. I have watched the Wimbledon twice, the US open once, so the AUS OPEN was always on my bucket list. Boy what an experience it was! It’s a festival. So much energy and excitement. Now I get why all players repeatedly say it’s the best slam to play. Ever since Federer retired it’s very tough to bring the same kind of love back for the sport. But I have loved @carlitosalcarazz ‘s growth and have been rooting for him. The way @janniksin has played we know the future is in safe hands.
I am so so grateful to @visitmelbourne for hosting me for the @australianopen this year. And giving me the best experience! Sitting like 6 seats away from the great Rod laver 🥹
This experience was made even more special because of @rohanbopanna0403 🙂 I wish I was there rooting for him in the finals. But it’s been such a proud moment to watch him play the way he is and becoming world no 1!
I HIGHLY recommend coming and experiencing this to all sport lovers. Cannot wait to be back here next year ❤️

What a week! Ofcourse the Aus Open was the highlight for me because of my love for sport. But there was just so much to do. From the wild life, to the runs around the city. A ride around Phillip Island, and a steam engine. Ate the most delicious food I have ever eaten. But 7 days in Melbourne are really not enough. Can’t wait to visit soon!
Thank you for having me over @visitmelbourne ❤️

Before I started acting, I would sit and watch a lot of films. There was something so attractive and magnetic about Waheedaji. She was stunning but there was so much more to her beauty. There was always a mystery about her. She was so confident, danced with total abandon but at the same time so vulnerable. She looked so ethereal and also felt so relatable. Her work on screen really influenced me.
Before my film Mirzya released I had gone for Gulzar Saab’s concert, where I saw her. I did something which I would otherwise never do. I found a way to reach out to her the next day and said I would like to come meet you. I’m so glad I did. I met her 7 years ago she was 79. She looked ethereal and so graceful. Her sparking eyes filled with curiosity. We chatted and I realised that she was the most beautiful person inside – out. This industry breeds insecurity. But Waheedaji is such a secure and complete human whose life is much more than just films. At the peak of her career she decided to stop acting to raise her children. Because she knew what was more important to her. At 79, when I met her she had come back from a dive trip. She was planning her wildlife photography trip while she was regularly doing her painting class.
I try and find some excuse to meet her whenever possible because she unknowingly teaches me so much. She told me to be stubborn with my choices, to be brave, to focus on learning new things and getting better. In a world of social media, PR, negativity, filters & photoshop. Her work, unfiltered advise and pure ethics stand there to guide me. Thankyou for being my guiding light waheedaji. Happy birthday ❤️
