To build a world free from fear, racism, and bigotry, we must stand united against all hate. Here are my remarks from the @unity_march_sf on Sunday.
In @time, the brilliant @noahrfeldman takes a sweeping look at antisemitism — the history, its impact, and why we must all work to combat it.
Noah describes the ways antisemitic discourse has reinvented itself through generations. He explains why today’s antisemitic lies — rooted in the false idea that Jews are not a historically oppressed group — are so damaging and dangerous. And he reminds us that antisemitism can be overcome if we “self-examine our impulses, our stories about power and injustice, and our beliefs.”
With the frightening rise in antisemitism in our country and around the world, this piece is more important than ever. I hope you read it.
Yesterday, thousands from our community gathered to march against antisemitism. Young and old, Jews and non-Jews, stood shoulder to shoulder — united in ensuring hope and tolerance can triumph over cynicism and hatred. The solidarity moved me to tears, more than once.
In my lifetime, I have given many speeches about bias and discrimination. But this was my first-ever speech about antisemitism. As Jews, we say “Never Again.” But never again cannot mean “never again will we allow another Holocaust to happen.” It has to mean “Never again will we allow hate against any group to be tolerated.” And unity is the key to making that happen.
It will take all of us to create a world free from racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, homophobia — from fear and bigotry in every form. A world where everyone can be proud of who they are. In times as difficult as these, this march gave me hope.
On #InternationalWomensDay, we recommit to building a more equal world.
We want to empower girls to lead their own way — whether that’s cheering on their teammates, taking on new responsibilities, or getting back up.
For #InternationalWomensDay, the @NBA, @WNBA, @leaninorg, and @aliyah.boston teamed up to celebrate all the ways girls are leading boldly on and off the court. Our new video will air on @ESPN on March 8 and run through the summer.
@NBA and @leaninorg have been proud to partner over the past 10 years to help more girls lean into sports and embrace their leadership superpowers. Check out LeanInGirls.org to learn more.
Happy Circle-versary to my @leaninorg Circle — 12 phenomenal leaders whose strength, boldness, and resilience inspire so many, including me. This week marks one year of meeting, learning, and growing together.
Over the last year, our Lean In Circle meetings have been a space to give and get advice about everything from launching new business ventures and identifying our goals to showing up as mentors and creating opportunities for more women. We’ve cheered each other on at book tours, concerts, and conferences. And most importantly, we have been there for each other through some real highs and real lows – and created deep and lasting friendships.
@ariannahuff, @biancagates, @wnbacommish, Deb, @debliu_, @dcmorrishr, @fidjissimo, @jadapinkettsmith, @Jewel, @rachelplatten, @sbrown0496, and Tiffany, you all mean the world to me. I’m so excited to continue this journey.

@barrymanilowofficial is bringing it at 80 – as he always has. Amazing to be such a legend and to have your life’s work make so many people laugh and cry “even now.”
To the friendship of my life and the music that I have loved all of my life.
Barry and @marnelevine – I could not love you more.

#InternationalWomensDay is a chance to lift up the women who believe in us, encourage us, and remind us that we are not alone. No one embodies this more than the @leaninorg community.
More than 88,000 women have started Lean In Circles in 183 countries. In a world that too often tells women to stay small and sit back, #LeanInCircles are a place where women can be unapologetically ambitious and authentically themselves. And they have a huge impact: 85% of members attribute a positive life change to their Circle, and almost two-thirds have taken on a new challenge since joining.
It’s always so inspiring to hear about what our Lean In Circles have accomplished — from hosting negotiation workshops in Togo and driving transparent salary initiatives in Spain to improving digital literacy in Bolivia and providing grants to help women in Lagos start their own businesses.
To the women (and men!) in our Lean In Community, thank you. You are some of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met.
Our #WomenInTheWorkplace2023 Report shows that progress for early career Black women remains the farthest out of reach. For every 100 men promoted to manager, only 54 Black women are promoted. Beyond this, we know from @leaninorg’s research that Black women receive less support from their managers.
The onus isn’t on Black women to fix this systemic problem. For #BlackHistoryMonth, @leaninorg is sharing specific steps managers can take to make sure Black women are treated fairly and given equal opportunities to grow and lead.
To build a truly equitable world, it’s on all of us to change our workplaces so that all employees are valued and supported. #LeanInOrg
Thank you Mayor @londonbreed for standing with us at the @unity_march_sf. As you said so powerfully, “There is no place for hate in San Francisco.”
I’m deeply inspired by Mayor Breed’s tenacity and commitment — from fighting against antisemitism and hate in all its forms to the ways she’s taking on the challenges San Francisco faces. She guided the city through the COVID-19 crisis with urgency and resolve. And she is showing how cities can lead on safety and justice.
We need more women in office, and we need women like Mayor Breed.

When women own businesses, they not only lift themselves up but also the communities around them. Unfortunately, as the @cherieblairfndn’s new report explains, women entrepreneurs often face significant barriers.
“Bridging the Divide: Women, Technology and Business Success” offers an in-depth look at the state of women’s entrepreneurship around the world. It dives deep into the challenges of accessing financing and navigating gender bias and stereotypes. It also lays out steps that leaders can take to create a more level playing field for women business owners.
We need even more women starting businesses, and we need to help them get there. This report tells us how. I hope you read it!
