The first time I tried a Bowhead (@bowheadcorp) – thanks to Kat (@kat_on_wheels_scotland) – I knew the time would come when one day, I would need to get one for my own.🤞🏻 The places it can take you, as a wheelchair user, are almost unimaginable! Over the past few years, I have begged so many friends to lend me one – Jack (@adaptiv.sportsuk) & Kat in the U.K., and Joe (@meetjoestone), Lisa (@keepinitwheel306), & Alex (@alex.johnathan) in the US, THANK YOU – and each time I’ve ridden one, my love for them has just grown and grown! You can imagine my delight, therefore, when the team invited me to join the Bowhead Family and become an Ambassador! Sally (@salligatorz), Tats and Dean delivered my new Bowhead last weekend, and honestly, I didn’t want to get out of it. Now I just need to figure out how to tow it behind my Spyder 😎 And get off bed rest……😫 Nb. I am not being paid to post and I bought the Bowhead myself at a discounted rate. #BowHead #AdaptiveSports #AdaptedMountainBiking, #Adaptive #Inclusive #Wheelchair #Disabled #InclusiveAdventure #BeyondBarriers
No, you’re crying. Introducing Bowl Van Gogh. How can one person be so talented and so devilishly handsome!? How did I get so lucky to have you as my bestie? I love you.
I got this tattoo after I got out of an abusive relationship. It’s my shield, my “I have my own back” tattoo. It felt SO good to get it done but it was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced! Am plotting my next one whilst I’m on bed rest…..🤔 #Tattoo #TattooInspo #LineWork #BlackTattoo #ThickLineTattoo #NeckTattoo

I can’t believe it was FOURTEEN years ago that I created this wheelchair for a mannequin, a prop I called a “Mannequal”. Fourteen years ago….🤯… All those years ago, I managed to get it used by some major retailers in the U.K., (Debenhams, Adidas, TopShop) and even Target (!!!) expressed an interest, but ultimately messed me around so much that I gave up. I took it very personally every time the concept got rejected. I was too young, I think. Now, every time a photo of it pops up on my phone, it makes me sad that I never saw it through…I wish I had the capacity and resources to continue the work and get it (or versions of it) in shops on every Highstreet in the UK and beyond…(the thought of brands using it in their windows, a display of inclusivity, showing that wheelchair users (and all disabled people) are welcome, accommodated and understood, is so epic) but I just don’t have time. One day, I’ll see it through – unless anyone out there wants to take on the challenge for me!? – as I do believe in it still. Times have changed since then, too. Maybe one day will come sooner than I think…🤷🏼♀️ #Mannequin #Display #Retail #Fashion #Inclusion #Wheelchair #AdaptedFashiob #Innovation

A few of you asking me to share this story on my feed. So here you go. I hope it helps someone, somewhere. 🖤 Ps. I’m on day 5 of bedrest 😫 hence why I’m filming on my bed.
It’s hard to put into words how it feels to be sitting upright, riding, after a week of not being able to move. Bed rest is where I feel the most disabled…riding is the opposite. Being paralysed is such a rollercoaster of emotions…the highs and lows are extreme, to say the least. Last week, I was in a very dark place, riddled with pain, frustrated and anxious. Riding out with my no 1 riding partner this weekend (@untamed_phoenix), getting some fresh Cali air with my music on (thanks @ben_tyrone & @tobydaviesmusic) through the canyons, some mud thrown in, and getting to ride with Aaron (@imaaronbaker) and Hans again and see Laquita (@laquitadian) and meet the rest of the Baker Family..was the perfect medicine. 🙏🏻 So grateful to be able to SIT up again, so thankful I healed so quickly, so grateful to have such magical people around me and soooo grateful to be back in action…bring on Monday 💪🏼
