The brand’s main reason for existence is to raise awareness about important social and environmental issues we tend to be too scared to talk about. They use fashion as a tool for social & individual change. With every collection @scarabaeusacer collaborates with an organization that is relevant to the social issue they’re addressing. For their current collection, the collaboration is with @did_egypt , a project by Al Nour wel Amal. They have joined forces to raise awareness for the visually impaired and blind by creating 2 special edition designs where their proceeds are donated to DID Egypt. Sacer is also promoting their center on their social media platforms as well as selling their merchandise on their e-store.
This collaboration doesn’t end there, Sacer worked on the accessibility of their products by including a braille card with each product packaging, so that those who are visually impaired are able to independently choose and shop. Monochromatic is a type of color blindness. People with this condition can neither recognize the different shades of colors nor the brightness level. Monochromatic usually runs in the family which means it is a genetic condition and it is not curable. However, special lenses and glasses could assist to identify the difference between colors. To see through the eyes of low-vision people we need much more than a month but we hope that what we did was an eye opener on how they see. If you know someone who happened to be low-vision, ask and learn what you can offer, what their needs are, and most importantly understand that their needs are just different yet their life is adaptable.
