Happened last night in Orlando last night at the Hard Rock Live too. Very appreciative and fun audiences. Thanks again to @comediantimwilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it. Bob Saget Instagram - Betty White. This amazing woman was exactly who you wanted her to be… Razor sharp wit, smart, kind, hilarious, sincere, and so full of love. From the first time I snuck into “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” at 15 years old and watched her hit everything she said out of the park, to decades later, getting to hang out with her on several occasions, I had a small peek into what a remarkable talent and human being Betty was. We were on an ABC jet once for a junket and I was sitting across from her, both of us sipping Bloody Mary’s. We had been laughing for hours— I looked into her eyes and faux romantically said, “How ‘bout it, Betty, you and me in the bathroom? Mile High Club?” She answered me before I had a chance to finish the invite— “Of course, Bob, you go in there first and I’ll meet you as soon as I finish my drink.” And then of course she went right to sipping from her straw. I waited in that bathroom for over two hours. (That would be the joke on a joke part, in case you take things literally.) She always said the love of her life was her husband, Allen Ludden, who she lost in 1981. Well, if things work out by Betty’s design— in the afterlife, they are reunited. I don’t know what happens when we die, but if Betty says you get to be with the love of your life, then I happily defer to Betty on this. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Betty White. My God we will miss you.

I met Dave in in a bar in Detroit on a “comedy night” when he was 18 years old and I was 22. We became instant friends. Who knew eight years later he would be cast in a TV show with my other lifetime brother, John Stamos, that I would join many months after they had already shot the pilot. What a gift of friend Dave is. A brother from another mother. That’s it. Just saying what a treasure it is to have a friend for most of your life that’s always there for you. Through good and bad. Only Dave could’ve done this great film about how he did his #DaveChappelleSummerCamp shows during Covid— Because we are blessed with only one Dave Chappelle.

Bob Saget Instagram - Okay, why am I wearing a Fez? Well for the first time ever, since my dad left us for greater pastures, I went through some of his stuff and found some of his treasured accoutrements— He was a very proud Shriner and 32nd degree Mason. For those that know, the Shriners are a society of people who do a lot of philanthropic work and often pay for surgeries for people that don’t have insurance and can’t afford medical care – – For kids and others who’ve needed organs, major super expensive surgeries, and they’ve saved many lives. I just wonder if you have to wear this Fez to do all that. By the way, it is in mint condition. That was my dad, and incredibly kind, smart, and caring man. I wonder if he ever wore this hat.

Bob Saget Instagram - I miss my mom so much. Dolly Saget. She was always so encouraging and positive, especially through all of the very difficult times. She truly was an inspiration to me and one of the main reasons I could believe in myself. Between my mom’s inspiration and my dad‘s relentless hard work ethic, I became whoever I am. And this is a woman who lost four kids in her life. And she still was able to stay positive. I will forever be in awe of her strength and deeply moved by how much love she gave to everyone that came into her life. I miss her very very much and I know everyone that knew her feels the same way. Here’s to all of your mothers— With us, and those that are gone… Sending love and appreciation to them all. ❤️

Bob Saget Instagram - A moment in time. So many great hilarious nights spent with Don and Barbara Rickles. Many, thanks to my brother John Stamos. Well, we lost Barbara today. And today was Barbara and Don’s Anniversary. Barbara was so loving- Such a good wife, mother, and Grandmother. My heart goes out especially to Mindy and Ed and their kids. My God she loved Don. She’d heard it all. I can’t imagine anyone else being married to him. He fell for her the moment he saw her. She got him. And he got her. Their relationship made me feel like I was with my own parents. They finished each other’s sentences and cut each other off— But In that way only people married for over 50 years can do. Always looking at each other with love- and sharing that love with their family and friends. So many good memorable times. I am so sorry she is gone. And I am so sorry for all those who loved her. Rest In Peace sweet Barbara.

Such is my new friendship with @comediennemspat - I’d seen her standup, then watched her new incredibly funny and smart sitcom @betplus - @themspatshow - Then had her on my podcast, and then— fell in love with this hilarious, strong, honest real woman who’s talent and depth also comes out in her new sitcom I feel you should all watch. After she and I talked on my podcast, she knew I was going to Indianapolis to do shows this weekend— and then she reached out and invited me to her house for dinner. Tonight, with her family, I just had the most genuine fun dinner, with a family that I am told I am “a new family member of.” So tonight, I had the pleasure of having dinner at their home. And treated like some traveling Uncle who came by to check in on people he cares about. What a gift life can be if you just let it be just that. As hard as these times are, tonight was a gift. Bob Saget Instagram - Atlantic City. LOVED my two shows @hardrockhcac with @therealmikeyoung - And ironically, it was located right here – where I used to go to as a kid. Steel Pier. It’s hard to believe that when I came here at nine years old, staying every summer at my grandparents, who lived not far inland from this very spot, this pier did not end where it does today. Nor did it look like this. It was amazing. Sure, arcade games, bumper cars, but mainly major showrooms with the biggest acts. It’s now 1000 feet long with some amusement rides but it was 2000 feet long when I used to go to it— And, like I said, it had the biggest names in show business performing. At nine years old I got to see the original Temptations and the original Four Tops on the same bill. My grandparents also took me to see Ricky Nelson there. I got to stand on the side of the pier and watch a helicopter take Ricky Nelson away to his next destination. At the very end of the pier they used to have a diving horse. Thank God they stopped that tradition. But it was also at the end of that pier there was a ballroom where I stood, at 10 years old, next to a drummer who had a small trio— and people were dancing— but the room was pretty empty. That drummer was the legendary Gene Krupa, one of the best drummers who has ever lived. I remember him staring at this kid – me – 10 years old, realizing I was seeing something amazing— watching him play. Memories of what that used to be, years after what was shown on “Boardwalk Empire,” but still remnants of those times existed back then in the 60’s. It was nice to stroll the boardwalk today and see people out, most wearing masks and still enjoying themselves. It felt so good to be here and get to do my first shows in a long time for people who I’m told can’t wait to get out and experience live comedy for the first time here in a long long time. Thanks Hard Rock and thanks Atlantic City. Such wonderful audiences.

Now, literally 8 months later, I got to come back and pick up where I left off thanks to Dave. So amazingly beautiful and hopeful to be back in the cornfield all weekend for such wonderful audiences. There is only one Dave Chappelle, and I am so blessed to have him in my life. And to hang out with my dear friend Jeff Ross, Geoff Wills, and everyone else here- It is a true joy of comedy camaraderie. From the first time I snuck into “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” at 15 years old and watched her hit everything she said out of the park, to decades later, getting to hang out with her on several occasions, I had a small peek into what a remarkable talent and human being Betty was. We were on an ABC jet once for a junket and I was sitting across from her, both of us sipping Bloody Mary’s. We had been laughing for hours— I looked into her eyes and faux romantically said, “How ‘bout it, Betty, you and me in the bathroom? Mile High Club?” She answered me before I had a chance to finish the invite— “Of course, Bob, you go in there first and I’ll meet you as soon as I finish my drink.” And then of course she went right to sipping from her straw. I waited in that bathroom for over two hours. (That would be the joke on a joke part, in case you take things literally.) She always said the love of her life was her husband, Allen Ludden, who she lost in 1981. Well, if things work out by Betty’s design— in the afterlife, they are reunited. I don’t know what happens when we die, but if Betty says you get to be with the love of your life, then I happily defer to Betty on this. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Betty White. My God we will miss you.

Tonight, with her family, I just had the most genuine fun dinner, with a family that I am told I am “a new family member of.” So tonight, I had the pleasure of having dinner at their home. And treated like some traveling Uncle who came by to check in on people he cares about. What a gift life can be if you just let it be just that. As hard as these times are, tonight was a gift. And I have a made a new friend. This weekend, Ms. Pat will be performing in Pittsburgh while I’ll do my thing in Indianapolis. Two comic ships passing in the night. Damn, I love comedians. It’s hard to believe that when I came here at nine years old, staying every summer at my grandparents, who lived not far inland from this very spot, this pier did not end where it does today. Nor did it look like this. It was amazing. Sure, arcade games, bumper cars, but mainly major showrooms with the biggest acts. It’s now 1000 feet long with some amusement rides but it was 2000 feet long when I used to go to it— And, like I said, it had the biggest names in show business performing. At nine years old I got to see the original Temptations and the original Four Tops on the same bill. My grandparents also took me to see Ricky Nelson there. I got to stand on the side of the pier and watch a helicopter take Ricky Nelson away to his next destination. At the very end of the pier they used to have a diving horse. Thank God they stopped that tradition. But it was also at the end of that pier there was a ballroom where I stood, at 10 years old, next to a drummer who had a small trio— and people were dancing— but the room was pretty empty. That drummer was the legendary Gene Krupa, one of the best drummers who has ever lived. I remember him staring at this kid – me – 10 years old, realizing I was seeing something amazing— watching him play. Memories of what that used to be, years after what was shown on “Boardwalk Empire,” but still remnants of those times existed back then in the 60’s. It was nice to stroll the boardwalk today and see people out, most wearing masks and still enjoying themselves. It felt so good to be here and get to do my first shows in a long time for people who I’m told can’t wait to get out and experience live comedy for the first time here in a long long time. Thanks Hard Rock and thanks Atlantic City. Such wonderful audiences.

There is only one Dave Chappelle, and I am so blessed to have him in my life. And to hang out with my dear friend Jeff Ross, Geoff Wills, and everyone else here- It is a true joy of comedy camaraderie.
