Guy Martin Instagram - Guy loves exploring a country at street-level to find out what makes it tick. This time he visited Colombia, to find out about one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse countries in the world.

He soon discovers that risk is something Colombians have learnt to live with every day when he undergoes the same brutal kidnap training that politicians are put through – gagged and bound and thrown into the back of a car, he is then tortured and water-boarded for real.

This shocking experience is followed by a visit to a uniquely Colombian business: a factory making designer bullet-proof clothing. Guy tests if the products work in the only way possible – he puts on a bullet-proof hoodie and is then shot at point blank range, by live ammunition.

The root cause of Colombia’s issues is the cocaine trade, and to find out more Guy loads a motorcycle into the back of a classic Douglas DC3 cargo plane before flying into the Colombian Amazon, landing at an airfield cut into the jungle by notorious drugs kingpin Pablo Escobar. Guy rides to a hidden drugs lab to find out how cocaine is made, then takes to the streets with a secret camera to see how easy it is to buy drugs in Medellin, once known as the most dangerous city in the world.

A meeting with the nephew of Pablo Escobar to watch some revealing home movies uncovers the inside story of the drug lord’s vast wealth, before a whirlwind first week of adventure concludes with Guy joining the elite jungle commandos on a drugs lab raid.

Guy Martin Instagram - Guy Martin’s Lost WW2 Bomber will air on Sunday 7th July at 9pm on Channel 4

In the most ambitious engineering project he’s ever taken part in, Guy helps to recover a crashed WW2 Lancaster Bomber - and the remains of its missing crew members - from the depths of the Dutch lake where it’s lain for 80 years.

On the 13th June 1943, Pathfinder Lancaster ED603 was shot down over the Ijsselmeer in the Netherlands. The bodies of four crew members washed ashore, but three airmen were never found – their remains assumed to still be in the wreckage of the plane.

Now, the Dutch government are funding attempts to recover ED603 - and find those missing airmen.- Guy will be involved throughout. He’ll help build a massive dam around the crash site, then drain it to reveal the Lancaster for the first time in 80 years. Then he’ll join the expert team as they recover ED603, piece by piece.

Guy will meet the descendants of ED603’s crew and discover just how important this project is to them – and the Dutch people.

He will also tell the story of the elite Pathfinder force, meet one of the last surviving Pathfinder crew members and learn about the cutting-edge technology they used to accurately mark bombing targets.

Finally, Guy will see ED603’s wreckage laid out in its original shape - and visit the Identification Laboratory, where all remains, clothing and personal effects will be used to determine whether the whole operation was a success – did they find all three of the missing airmen?

Guy has been riding @orangebikes for as long as he can remember, when we nudged him for an exact date we got “I've had a few hot dinners since then”. He put in a call to Orange a few weeks back as he wanted to buy a new frame, his old bike was knackered and after 35,000 miles in 7 years it needed retiring. His orange hasn’t been on all his biking adventures but it is the bike that he rides the most on his daily commute to work. The lads and lassies at Orange Bikes and @hopetech built him this trick aluminium brushed frame with Hope accessories. They arrived to his work last week and he was proper blown away by the bike as you can see in the video. Massive thanks to everyone at Orange Bikes and Hope Technology Ltd for their continued support of Guys biking. #orangebikes #hopetech #guymartin

Guy Martin Instagram - It’s been awhile but he’s back. As an energy crisis and cost of living crisis collide Guy’s new series will investigate the past, present and future of British power stations to work out how the country makes its most valuable commodity of all: electricity.

Over the 3, hour long episodes Guy will be making his own spectacular contribution towards Britain's Net Zero goals, by helping to blow up a coal-fired power station. He’ll be putting himself through an intense safety course and learning how to escape from an underwater helicopter so that he can work on the world's biggest offshore wind farm, then he'll work with the British Army in their brand new solar-powered workshop. Plus he'll be tasked with "the hardest job in the country" - manually making the second-by-second adjustments required to balance the nation's supply of electricity with its ever-changing demand.

Guy will also drive to the very end of the National Grid - the Orkney Islands - and find out how the world's biggest tidal generator and a fledgling hydrogen economy are teaching the world about future fuels. Additionally, he’ll investigate what part nuclear has to play in keeping the country's lights on and will put in a shift at Hinkley Point C, the nuclear building site reputed to cost £7m a day to run.

“I’ve been telling the telly lot we need to do this series for ages. I've always been fascinated with power - making it, using it, tuning it, while at the same time trying to be efficient and not spend a fortune. And whether it's motorbikes or tractors, my house or power stations , the principles are the same. All the places we've had access to are trick, and getting stuck in alongside the people who work in them is bloody brilliant. The plan is to find out how power generation works, what the good bits are, what the problems are, and where our next bit of electricity is best coming from."

Guy Martin Instagram - And so begins another rotation around the sun for our Guy, he certainly knows how to pack in some adventures and hopefully you won’t have long to wait to watch his latest exploits on @channel4.

We chose this photo because Guy loves farming and the solitude of the man and his machine working the land.

On a personal note, we do have sacrifices to make with Guy as he sets out to achieve his accomplishments but that’s what we do for love. We are always so bloody proud of him, we stand at a distance and watch as he achieves greatness time and time again. They say life begins at 40 but I think Guy will agree it only gets interesting around 282mph (unofficially ) Happy birthday to our lad. ❤️Shazza, Dottie, Nigel, Steve and Layla the Cat.

Guy Martin Instagram - “I know everyone is saying it but yes Strange Times.
I can’t help but feel like a Chameleon at the moment, I've moved from a truck fitter to farming.
I know a lot of people are struggling and it's a right bastard, hang in there. Let’s treat this situation with common sense and we’ll be grand.
Im lucky, I can keep busy. Ive spent the last seven weeks de-stoning fields on my John Deere tractor, for the potato job.
Then Ive been fitting, on Iveco Irrigation systems and preparing the balers, ready for the shit spreading, post harvest.
I have had a day off and that was fiddling with the Hyabusa job, recon she’s good to push on towards 300mph in a mile.
Keep safe, keep your head up and your eyes forward”

Guy Martin Instagram - After more than a decade in design and build @the_52_express land speed record motorcycle successfully completes its first ever powered run. Ridden by Guy Martin, a sub 90mph test at Elvington Airfield, Yorkshire, enabled the team to carry-out a number of systems and safety checks, establish braking distances and also saw the bike lift up from its stabilisers to run on its own two wheels.

Streamlined bodywork will soon be fitted over the 30ft labyrinth of aero-grade metal tubing. The motorcycle is powered by a fifty-year-old Rolls-Royce helicopter engine slung behind a 1950s-style cockpit . It is the creation of 77-year-old former motorcycle Grand Prix and TT sidecar racer, Alex Mcfadzean. Ridden by Guy Martin, it is hoped the all British bike will hit 400mph, breaking the current 376mph motorcycle land-speed record, in Bolivia in 2023.

Guy Martin Instagram - PROJECT300 Update:

Recently Guy got the opportunity to bring the Busa to Mira, the UK’s only full-scale aerodynamic wind tunnel. Guy and Rob White have struck up a commonality in that they are both trying to achieve an incredibly fast goal on different types of machines. Rob is currently working on a secret project and enlisted Guys help to test the 2 machines. Obviously Guy jumped at the chance to help out and is blown away by Robs dedication and plans. Guy also got to learn more about his own machine.

Both men have the tenacity and drive we all admire and they will sacrifice everything and anything to achieve their goals. We wish Rob all the best and look out for the unveiling of his incredible project. As for Guy, he is hoping for some dry runs in the not too distant future. #guymartin #guymartinofficial #AGV #Dainese #project300. Photos courtesy of @mark_r_photos

Guy Martin - 24.5K Likes - Guy loves exploring a country at street-level to find out what makes it tick.

Tune in on Sunday 23rd July at 9pm @channel4 for the first of two episodes.

Guy Martin - 20K Likes - Guy Martin’s Lost WW2 Bomber will air on Sunday 7th July at 9pm on Channel 4

Guy Martin’s Lost WW2 Bomber will air on Sunday 7th July at 9pm on Channel 4

Guy Martin - 18.9K Likes - We had the privilege to have the legendary @guymartinofficial as a special test rider for the new Dainese Audax leathers, Axial 2 boots and Full Metal 7 gloves at @misanoworldcircuit, homeland of some of the fastest racers in history.

It was a great honour to spend a weekend with Guy, talking about motorcycling, sharing pure mechanical passion, watching him work restlessly on every single detail of the bike and his equipment.

Guy Martin - 18.6K Likes - It’s been awhile but he’s back.

Guy Martin - 18.3K Likes - And so begins another rotation around the sun for our Guy, he certainly knows how to pack in some adventures and hopefully you won’t have long to wait to watch his latest exploits on @channel4.

Guy Martin - 14.8K Likes - After more than a decade in design and build @the_52_express land speed record motorcycle successfully completes its first ever powered run.
