Caption : Ok. So THAT was the longest day I’ve ever done at an F1 track. Blessed to be working with @jeanpierrebassin, who’s now been my cameraman at the 24 hours of Le Mans and the 24 hours of Las Vegas. Tricky first day at this crazy and amazing venue, and a real shame given the huge amount of work and effort put into the event. But WOW it looks incredible and almost all the drivers are loving driving the track. Let’s go again today. Qualifying will be spectacular.Likes : 43773

I am in awe of all that you do. Thank you for being all that you are. This is only the start. Love you mate Xx @lauracwinterLikes : 25823

Despite the pain through which it came, I hope you knew how many people genuinely loved you, and truly appreciated the talent you shared with the world.Likes : 24114

Caption : So, this is 300. A triple century of Grands Prix attended professionally as a journalist and broadcaster. Honestly, it blows my mind. I’m so grateful for the many opportunities I’ve been given over the years and the chances people took on me these past 2 decades. From Grandprix.com where it began to F1 Magazine to Metro, GPWeek, Speed, NBC and now to be part of the official broadcast on F1TV, it’s been a wild and completely unexpected ride and one for which I’m truly thankful, not least to the amazing people and talented teams I’ve worked with, and all those who have supported me and helped me grow. You might ask how in 22 years I’ve not done more than 300. Well, in the early years, seasons were “only” 15 or 16 races long. I spent 3 of those seasons working in PR in GP2 and despite having a pass that gave me access to the F1 paddock don’t consider those to be Grands Prix I worked in F1. Today, as I get a bit older and more mindful of being more present at home, I’ve sought to cap attendance just beneath the full schedule. My total, across all championships, all races attended professionally and commentaries recorded at track or from back at Biggin Hill, now stands at 600+. And I know… that’s a frankly insane figure. It’s the greatest job in the world. And the greatest honour to talk to you all about the thing we all love. Thanks for following along xLikes : 21119

Caption : Back in 2013 I was trying to get a charity event in Austin off the ground, and Gil said he’d pop by for a few minutes if he could. In the end his flight was delayed and so I assumed that was that. But I’d not accounted for the fact that this was Gil. He came anyway, straight from the airport, pulling his suitcase behind him as he arrived at the bar and already had a beer in his hand by the time he reached the stage, a gift from a fan who couldn’t believe he was there. His stories had the room in awe and in hysterics. Almost all unprintable. Very few repeatable. The roar when the night ended, the love for Gil, almost blew the windows out. That was Gil. His word was his bond. He was loyal, genuine, kept his promises and made the effort for his friends. He made time for his fans. I last saw him a few weeks ago in an airport lounge en route to one of the last Grands Prix of the season. We spoke about our kids and our families, sharing photos and sharing joy. We talked about our jobs, this crazy life. He was in a great place. So happy. So excited. So many plans. We agreed to get a meal together in the new year at the first opportunity we got. I can’t believe he’s gone. Gil de Ferran was a sensational racing driver. One of the best you’ll ever have seen. But beyond everything, he was a wonderful man. I loved him. And I’ll miss him terribly. 📸 @f1photographer & @jameypricephotoLikes : 9697

Caption : A rollercoaster of emotions and a week I won’t forget in a while. After the rockiest of starts, the Las Vegas Grand Prix served up an absolute thriller. Blown away by the spectacle of the event and the sheer enormity of the effort put into creating the race and transforming one of the world’s most famous streets into a bona fide racetrack. The grid was wild. The paddock was rammed. The hype was real. I’ve never had a busier weekend, but amongst the madness so grateful to have stolen a few spare seconds to meet up with good friends I’ve not seen in too long, and over the course of the event to make many new ones. Wouldn’t have survived without the amazing F1TV team. On a weekend where we were all broken at one point I’ll always be grateful to work with such amazing, caring people who have your back and look out for you alongside being, professionally, the absolute gold standard in our industry. Knackered. But I bloody loved it. Thanks for having us Vegas. Can’t wait to come back.Likes : 9206

Caption : OK I can’t handle it anymore. I’m definitely not going mad. Overjoyed that this wonderful song is finally Christmas Number 1. It’s such a brilliantly crafted song. But I’m utterly confused as to why the default version that plays on Spotify has a rogue element that doesn’t appear on the original, radio or remastered version. At 01:03 the pitch and tempo shift up and stay at the new level for the rest of the song. It’s awful. Ruins a meticulously and perfectly crafted piece of music. I’ve included both versions. The first is the original we are all used to as featured on George Michael’s Twenty Five. The second is the default version on Spotify. I’m not mad… am I? I’m definitely not. In fact you can hear it shift down again when the loop restarts. What is going on? @columbiarecords @columbiauk @epicrecords @epicrecordsuk @whamofficial @spotify Cc @romankemp @andrewjohnridgeleyLikes : 3876

Getting @wbuxtonofficial was a proper treat too. The episode is flying. Christian appearing on Aussie TV and Newsbeat today has also made me very happy.
