In India, you can find innovation everywhere you turn—even in the preparation of a simple cup of tea!
Wow! I had a colossal visit to the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue. Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi for the invitation to visit this engineering marvel and thanks Chief Minister @bhupendrapbjp to your government for hosting me.
Thank you @narendramodi for the invitation to visit the impressive Statue of Unity. It is an engineering marvel and a great tribute to Sardar Patel. Also great to see it is creating economic opportunity for local tribal communities, especially women.

This was my first time attending a wedding celebration in India, and it was incredible. Congratulations, Anant and Radhika. Thank you for having us and giving us an excuse to catch up with old friends.
Thank you, @narendramodi, for your time and a great discussion about how India can share expertise with the people and places that need them the most. I’m blown away by the country’s strong focus on digital public infrastructure, women-led development, and innovation in agriculture, health, and climate adaptation. I’m optimistic that India will continue to lead the way by using AI for public good.
As I reflect on the past week in India, one thing stands out: The incredible hospitality everyone showed Paula and me, especially from Mukesh and Nita at the beautiful celebration of their son Anant and his fiancée Radhika.
I filled a pothole and reduced carbon emissions during my incredible visit to @modernhydrogen! Modern Hydrogen has developed an innovative system to remove carbon from natural gas. The process results in hydrogen, a zero emission fuel, and solid carbon, which can be sequestered in asphalt used to build roads and repair potholes.
A few highlights from another incredible trip to India.

The majority of Nigerians rely on diesel generators to power their lives and livelihoods. @arnergysolar is working to change that with modular solar solutions. I had a chance to visit their office in Lagos last week, and it’s safe to say I was arnerg-ized by our conversations.
Fonio is a “lost crop” from West Africa that is nutritious, delicious, and naturally drought tolerant. But processing it is time-consuming and labor-intensive, which makes it unprofitable for farmers to grow despite its many benefits. This fourth-generation Senegalese family is working to change that.
It was a busy but inspiring week in Nigeria and Niger.
The first month of life is the most critical for determining a child’s long-term health. Fortunately, nutrition interventions, basic medical tools, and trained birth attendants can make a world of difference at this stage—and help give every child the best chance of surviving and thriving.
For one family in Ethiopia, the drop in child mortality since 1990 isn’t just a statistic—it’s the difference between losing five siblings to preventable causes and finishing school to become a doctor.
