My first year with the Habs and my 1st time in Boston in a Habs uniform. I know it’s our #1 rivalry. We are down 2 1 in the 2nd and not playing very well. I definitely don’t want to fight lucic because he’s a killer but I need to let the bruins and my teammates know I’m full in on this rivalry. We drop em and I just tried to not get killed. And maybe get lucky if he makes a mistake or 2. He doesn’t really make a mistake because he doesn’t make many. HE also knows I can take advantage of ppl’s mistakes lol (I did win our 1st fight 😉) .. but we had a spirited bout at the end of our shifts, so not super exciting lol but the boys loved it and respected it. That’s when I officially became a Hab in that dressing room. But the best was yet to come. 1 of my favourite moments as a hockey player. Michel Therrien and I had a great relationship. 1 of my favourite coaches. But we also butted heads sometimes. Only because we were both passionate about winning and also both stubborn assholes. His speech in the 2nd intermission was 1 of the most respectful and emotional moments of my career. Cherry on top, we came back and won 3 2! The moment when I truly became a Montreal Canadien.

Always my favourite way to start a hockey game!! If you’re a hockey fan then I’m sure you remember this Rangers/Devils line brawl at the opening face off! The 6 of us are going to jump on a zoom session and tell all of our different sides to the stories that go with this. Probably one of the last ever line brawls to start a game. Well at least in the NHL anyway.. I heard of a couple pond hockey games this past winter that started this way! 😂

Also, lots of talk about former battles, particularly between @cam_janssen25 and I. We fought 10 times in our career, including junior- the most fights against any 1 player for both of us. The 6 of us go back in time to 2012 and relive that epic line brawl to start the game in the heart of New York City, the most famous arena in the world, Madison Square Garden! We talk about the build up to the game, the anticipation in the dressing room before the fights, the fights themselves, and the aftermath. Some of the most fun I’ve had battling for my teammates, the jersey, the fans, and a city. As a Ranger, you don’t let any opponent come into NY and push you around – especially the New Jersey Devils.
