My Valentine has been a dime for 26 years of my life. I love you baby and may we have 26 more happy Valentine’s Day.
Every woman watching this (the ones who say they aren’t are either lying or are an absolute ANOMALY) are CRINGING and nervous at the sight of this. But this, for a father and a son, is ESSENTIAL in their bonding experience. Two important things to focus on as you watch this, 1-If you listen closely to these boys, they are having a BLAST!!!! Couldn’t be having a better time than having their inner warrior/hunter/daredevil, activated and released in a safe place with their father. This isn’t something that they will be encouraged to do with their mother. They would be worried that they could actually hurt mom if they did roughhouse with her. Their instinct is to love mom and hug her. It goes against their nature to do this with mom. It would be very confusing. Because it requires the re-wiring of natures design. 2-this is an extremely important activity for dad as well. Because any man who denies or tries to repress his inner kid quickly becomes a depressed man. So we have to learn how to find ways to stay connected with the inner kid in us while simultaneously being the protector and provider for those around us. It speaks to our overall health. While we are in this powerful month, I celebrate all the Black fathers who do the things that go unnoticed and and unappreciated. Being a father is the most THANKLESS job on the planet. Even when a young man or woman achieves greatness and gets a second on camera, the first thing they say is, “hi Mom!” You can’t find a restaurant to make a reservation on Mother’s Day. But on Father’s Day you could virtually walk in to the majority of restaurants that you know and sit down like it’s a regular day. Being a father, particularly a black Father, is a thankless job, and for that I send a gigantic shout out to all Black dads. every day society is telling you that you don’t matter. And that you are replaceable and that you are optional. You are NOT. You are raising and protecting a nation. Carry on @mrspb2 I see you brother. Well done.
@michelleobama and I could teach a class. Too many of us, as parents, are out here trying to be our kids FRIENDS. I have told my kids whenever they get beside themselves, “I’m not your FRIEND! I’m your FATHER!” Now don’t get me wrong, I work hard at having a LOVING relationship with my daughter and my son. But just because it’s loving doesn’t mean we’re PEERS or FRIENDS. You can be a confidant and not have the dynamic of being a peer. There is such a thing as firm but LOVING accountability. You can be a friend to your daughter or son once they LEAVE your house!!!!! But as long as you are the ultimate accountability partner, and they live under your roof, being their “friend” is a dangerous approach. And the quicker we get away from concept of “friends” the better off society will be because we will be raising great CITIZENS. Remember, a child that disrespects their parents will disrespect ANYONE!!!!
My baby and her show, Winning Time for HBO, was nominated for a Critics Choice award. She is a rockstar of a director/producer. It is for sure her super power. And this is one of the receipts. Congratulations baby. I couldn’t be prouder of what you do and how you do it!!!!

This is me anytime I feel like I’m under attack…which is pretty frequent. If I were doing things to harm my people or people in general I’m sure I’d have many more doors opened. But they would be the wrong ones. And I’m ok with that. I pray for blessings in order to be a blessing. It’s my assignment in life. Brother Carl, your talents were deeply appreciated, and you will be missed. Your work as Apollo Creed will forever cement you in the minds and hearts of your audiences. And one of my all-time favorites, Predator, stands out for me whenever I want to watch one of my nostalgic favorites. You smashed both these roles as only you could. The Iowa Caucus was won by a person accused of assisting in an insurrection of the capital. And this interview is evidence that maybe there’s something in the water there. And that’s as nice as I can say that. Smh. Wow. In anything else people would be quick to label this mental illness. I call it a lack of mental willingness. America? If you know anything about me you know that I love my kids. My daughter makes me proud to be a father. And I state that often. And I’m sure that my wife is so happy to have a daughter that in many ways mirrors who she is as a woman. Well as a father, I couldn’t be prouder to have a son @drewhitfield_ , that in so many ways, mirrors what I model as a man!!!! Son, today is your birthday and I can’t tell you how proud I am of your trajectory in life! You are everything that I prayed for in a son and becoming so many things that I could only dream of of. I want to give a special shout out to my son @drewhitfield_ today. He played a phenomenal round of golf in his tournament but came to moment where he had to make an important decision-win with dishonesty or lose with honor. In a world where everyone encourages you to win at all cost, my son chose to call a penalty on himself, which cost him two strokes and probably the tournament. As a father, I can’t tell you how proud, I am of him. While it hurt his score in golf, it helped his score as a man in development. And that is the most important thing in life. Dré, while today hurts, this is only a moment. But your manhood is a movement. Your scorecard is temporary. Your manhood is forever. Dr Nina…you are a woman and a queen of the highest order!!!! Because you recognize who the enemy is…and it’s not your husband!!! Too many couples suffer from this syndrome. A man who makes less initial money than you do does not mean he isn’t the man for you. And it definitely doesn’t mean he’s not a great man. It simply means that you have skillsets that are viable in a specific portion of the job market. Nothing more. Nothing less. It didn’t even make you smarter or a better leader!!! Again, It simply means that your skillsets have found the proper place to garner a better wage. Your man or your husband who makes less, is not your enemy. The enemy is anything or anyone that comes between your union. And that has nothing to do with money. A union is about roles and position INSIDE the house. Not position and power OUTSIDE the house. Because marriage is about collaboration and not completion. When you get that concept you will be setting yourself up for marital success.
BOTH necessary!!!! Who missed that???? My wife and I are BOTH necessary to our children. NO…we are NOT equal to each other but we are needed EQUALLY!!! Yes I just said that. And I’ll say it again…my wife and I both have skillsets that the other doesn’t have. Which means that we are different. Unequal. Not BETTER. Just DIFFERENT. And again, not equal to each other but needed EQUALLY!!!!! Let’s stop being afraid to claim the truth. It’s hampering our ability to collaborate with one another other.
Recently, I had a loved one have major surgery on her heart. And it felt like my own heart needed surgery. And while I prayed, it always felt better when my fear expressed how I felt. We often order food on our apps and trust that it will make it to us no matter where we are. Well God delivers anywhere. And on the day of her surgery God delivered again!!!! Thank you @urbandenomination for creating this line. As godly man, I love wearing gear that represents my heart! 🙏

Everyday I try to be the kind of dad that reminds my kids of the areas that they are elite in. And then give them the direction that will help them be elite in other areas. But the point is, you have to speak that into your kids lives. If they hear it from you that can claim it for themselves sooner in life. My brother @coachavery6 got it right.
